  1. Rose Hill over West Carter Elliott Co over Rowan Co. Ferguson led with 41 pts. Elliott Co. over Lawerence Co. Ethan Faulkner led with 24 pts.
  2. Perry is expected to play next season.
  3. 120-42 Tyler Maynard led with 25 points.
  4. Greenup was missing 2 of thier top 3 players.
  5. Euton is a very consistent outside shooter. He shot something like 45% from three point range last season.
  6. Anyone have any scores? Elliott Co. over Greenup Co. Elliott Co. over Spring Valley, WV
  7. Actually, Elliott Co just played their normal game. The scored several times on back door cut, transition, and off shooting the three. While at times, I agree, Elliott Co did struggle to set up their sets but this is the summer time you can't expect teams to be able to run plays to perfection. I dont think Elliott Co. done anything horrible but just didnt do anything great. I also think that Elliott Co took Fern Creek's best game. Fern Creek hit several threes in this game that they did not hit in other games. Plus, like I said before, Timmy Knipp did not play. And he would have been a major factor in this game. While I do agree that his on the ball defense may not have been able to help them win but his help defense is what would have been key in this game. When guards are able to penatrate Elliott Co. defense Timmy Knipp is there to block shots. He is the only true shot blocker on the Elliott Co team. He is also one of the teams best rebounder. Not to mention what he brings to the table on the offensive end. He gives them a post presence outside of Ferguson, who also plays a lot on the wing, that Elliott Co did not have this tourney.
  8. Yes. He sprained the same ankle during an AAU practice earlier in the year and has not been on it since. I think he is expected to play next week at Fairview team camp. He is now about 6'6" and a key part Elliott Co's team.
  9. Timmy Knipp was not playing due to an ankle injury.
  10. Elliott Co did not have their whole team playing.
  11. I hear that Hunington High's back-up point guard from last year has been participating in Rose Hill's summer games. Any heard or seen this?
  12. Scott Co., Elliott Co., Montgomery Co. and Tates Creek all won their pools. Montgomery Co. beat JBS to win their pool.
  13. Someone correct me if I am worng but I don't believe that Jake Jenkins took part in the camp.
  14. Elliott Co. vs Fern Creek should be one of the better first round games of the tournament.
  15. If you click on the link you can find all the scores of yesterdays games.
  16. Boone County will make some noise.
  17. The varisty state tournament starts this Thursday at the KBA in Lexington. It is usually a really good event. Anyone have any predictions? Looks to be several good teams going to be there. Should be a excellent weekend of basketball. Go to to see the pools and brackets.
  18. 1. KY 2. No 3. Walls 4. Walls 5. Pettigrew Tb: 9
  19. Coach Rick Mays definietly deserves to be considered in this conversation. Coach Mays has 350 kids in his entire high school to pick his team from, where most other schools have that in each graduating class. He doesnt have the luxury of athletes as the Russell's, and Ashland's, and Greenup's. He has over 350 wins, 5 Class "A" regional titles, 3 district titles, a regional runner-up, and a regional championship in 26 years at a Class "A" school. I don't know that you can come up with 10 Class "A" coaches in the state that have that resume. You say that Sandy Hook has had numerous teams comes through, but if you think about it I bet you couldn't come up with 5 teams that was the favorite to win the district. 3 of those 5 years, he has won them. Like you said, he has a talented group now and you see what he is doing with it. He has been to the last two regional championships and he won last year.
  20. I could be wrong on this but I think that the high school athletic association in Indiana will only allow teams to play 20 regular season games. With that said, the KOB would take up 4 out of the 20 games that are allowed.
  21. Derek Smith All Stars would have to be the favorite.
  22. Just like always this time of year, the KBA is holding the AAU state tourney this weekend. Anyone have any predictions for the 15u, 16u, or 17u. Should be a great weekend of basketball.
  23. Aaron Morrison from Estil Co. will be playing for Morehead State.
  24. Elliott Co. has put together a 16u AAU team that will consist of every player on last years varisty roster outside of Tyler Maynard and he will not be playing due to age. They are playing in thier first tourney this weekend in Florence and will be playing the following weekend in the 16u AAU state tourney.
  25. Kentucky Hoopstars participated in "The Battle in the Boro" tournament this past weekend in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Thier Junior-to-be(16U) and thier Sophomore-to-be(15U) both won the tournament. The sophmore team beat SE Elite in the championship while the junior team beat Arkansas Wings. That is the second tournament the sophomore team has won.
