RA09 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Just like always this time of year, the KBA is holding the AAU state tourney this weekend. Anyone have any predictions for the 15u, 16u, or 17u. Should be a great weekend of basketball.

sic wit da ball Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 NKy Shining Stars should be one of the favorites to win the 17U bracket.
sidelinecoach Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 NKy Shining Stars should be one of the favorites to win the 17U bracket. I would take the NKy Shining Stars over either DS East or West.
SportsGuy41017 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 There are a lot of good teams, almost any of them could come out on top.
shooterx3 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I would take the NKy Shining Stars over either DS East or West. Really? I would take the other side of that one
gymrat94 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Really? I would take the other side of that one It will be a good tournament b/c you can't count out the NKy Jazz who won it all last year. I still think Shining Stars and both DS teams will be the favorites, it will depend on the brackets after pool play. It will hurt the Stars not having Grimes or Chambless though. Sparks will carry the load. It is hard to vote against the toughness of Novosel. Portwood and Smart aren't afraid to shoot from anywhere, very streaky though.
shooterx3 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Who is playing for the Stars? Where is Grimes and Chambliss?
loubballfan Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 The 15U should be won by the Patriots. The Eddie Ford group could give them a game but no one else that I know of has the size and athletic ability to stay with them. The Players, Shinig stars McFarland team, or HLB elite should fill out the rest of the final four, IMO.

They have already beat DS All-Stars East in a tournament.
gymrat94 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Who is playing for the Stars? Where is Grimes and Chambliss? Heard Grimes has a broken hand and Chambless is out with a bad back. Going through rehab now. Shining Stars has a website with their roster (main players are Nic Simpson, Mike Sparks and Arrez Henderson), how did you pick either DS team to beat them without knowing who plays for them? You must be confident in your group.
gymrat94 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 What about Team Kentucky? They have already beat DS All-Stars East in a tournament. Anything could happen, I don't know if that team could make a run if they get a bad draw. Should be interesting though.
SportsGuy41017 Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 What about Team Kentucky? They have already beat DS All-Stars East in a tournament. May not be one of the favorites, but as I said above, almost any of them could come out on top. A lot of good teams in the tourney.
