AAU State Tournament

how did you pick either DS team to beat them without knowing who plays for them? You must be confident in your group.

Anyone involved with any team should have confidence in their group. :thumb:

DefinitelyTeam Ky could do it and especially if they are shooting well they will be very difficult to beat. They did beat DS East earlier & in the same tourney lost to them by 7 or so in pool play. DS did not have Portwood & Team Ky did not have 6'7" Stephens kid. Based on that I would still have to give Team Ky the nod at that time & maybe now.

Heard Grimes has a broken hand and Chambless is out with a bad back. Going through rehab now.

Shining Stars has a website with their roster (main players are Nic Simpson, Mike Sparks and Arrez Henderson), how did you pick either DS team to beat them without knowing who plays for them? You must be confident in your group.

Without these 2 players I would give a slight edge to either DS East or West over Shining Stars. You cannot count out Tommy Gifford as a big contributor for Shining Stars. He maybe one of the most underrated players in this tourney.

If you say so, I forgot about Gifford, when he is on there isn't a better point guard in the state when it comes to distributing and scoring

Who is the HLB team ? Anyone know any of their players on the 17U?

I don't know their players, but HLB stands for Higher Level Basketball.

I can not believe that the No. Ky Jazz is not getting any respect. How can you not have them as one of the favorites. Not only won it last year but have added much more talent this year.

Who are the favorites in the 16 and under?

Derek Smith All Stars would have to be the favorite.

Can someone who attends the games please report on the scores?

Shining Stars won by 25 over HLB and The Truth beat Urban Streets in the 17U

From my understanding, 6' McCreary Central freshman foward Timmy Shepherd dropped 24 on Dakota Euton and the Adidas OBC Patriots in a losing effort. Shepherd is high school and AAU teammates with Aaron Watts, whose name has been included in arguments on who is better between Watts and Euton by members of this board. McCreary Central's tallest player on their AAU circuit is a 6'4 lanky, freshman foward.
