  1. I dont think any of the Elliott faithful is down. Elliott played hard and didnt have their best shooting night. You have to tip your hat to Russell for playing good defense and learn from this game. Everybody is 0-0 starting on Monday.:thumb:
  2. Actually, if you think about, even though these boys are sophmores, they have a lot of experience. 6 of their top 7 players ( which all return next year) got minutes in the regional final last year. 4 of their top 7 players have played in big time AAU events across the nation playing against top notch competition and 2 of the 7 have been contributing since the 7th grade and another since the 8th. So really the only player that gets consistant minutes every game that dosent have much experience is 8th grader Timmy Knipp who has gaining vaulable experience this year and is getting better every game.
  3. And just to clear this up, I never said Elliott County was a top team in the state. What I said was, Elliott County played South Charleston a good game and that South Charleston would compete for a state championship in KY. There is a difference.
  4. Outside of a small point guard, they have good size in every position. Their team is based around a very, very solid 6'7 post player. They run the floor very well and play pressure defense.
  5. While you may be right on them not being one of the top teams in the state but what I am saying is they are not going to get "run off the floor" as you put it in an earlier post by many teams in Kentucky, while they could possible be a few exceptions. Also, the comment about the South Charleston/ Scott Co scrimage, South Charleston was very short handed and would be no doubt in my mind a top 10 team in the state.
  6. South Charleston way to athletic for the Lions. SC 68 BC 51
  7. How is Ty playing since returning?
  8. 1st Region- Graves County 2nd Region- Christian County 3rd Region- Meade County 4th Region- Warren Central 5th Region- E-town 6th Region- Doss 7th Region- Ballard 8th Region- Simon Kenton 9th Region- Cov Cath 10th Region- Mason COunty 11th Region- Scott County 12th Region- Lincoln County 13th Region- South Laurel 14th Region- Hazard 15th Region- Paintsville 16th Region- Elliott County TB #1- 16th Region TB #2- 13th Region
  9. Fairview is always tough to beat at home. They seem to shoot the ball much better in their own gym(59 percent from the field in the game against Elliott).
  10. While I agree, they are several quicker and more athletic teams not only in the state, but inside their own region. But I disagree with you on them not being able to "hang in there." Elliott Co can score with anyone in the state and plays as hard as anyone in the state. They played a South Charleston team who was much quicker, bigger and more athletic to 3 points. That South Charleston would compete for a state title in Kentucky. I do agree with you though, there is a select few that, this year, Elliott probably couldn't "hang in there" with.
  11. They are only a select few, if any, that could run Elliott off the floor simply because the amount of points they score.
  12. I agree Sportsfan. This was a total team effort tonight. Though Maynard didnt have one of his better scoring games, he contiuned to work hard and contribute.
  13. I would say that your stats are accurate. I alawys seem to get someones wrong.
  14. Elliott Co travels to Fairview on Saturday to take on the Eagles. Elliott coming off a win and Fairview coming off a loss. How does this one go down? Jv game will start at 2:00 pm and varisty game will follow.
  15. Where was this game played at?
  16. How many did Hicks and Campbell have?
  17. Elliott pulls away in the second half behind solid defense and rebounding. Jonathon Ferguson and Evan Faulkner score 22 and 6 rebounds each. Ethan Faulkner scored 17 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Chris Knipp contributes 9 points.
  18. How many did Walls and Mackey have?
  19. If im not mistaken they are playing the game at Cam Henderson on the campus of Marshall Univeristy. I am not sure on max capacity but I am almost certain it holds several more than Memorial does.
  20. Wow, sounds like Franklin County had them on the ropes. Hate to hear about Meyer, must have been a hard shot. How many points did Meyer end up with?
  21. Elliott Co.- The Dean's Den:lol::ylsuper:
