HOMELESS CAMEL Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Congrats to Lewis Co on the big win. I can only imagine the frustration with those involved in the Greenup Co situation. Shouldn't have ended like this or been dragged out the way it was. But they have 9 months now to get this taken care of before the start of next season.
JOHN BOY Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Lewis Co played hard and pulled this one off. Marty Ruggles played as well as I have ever seen him, having an excellent game doing it all, Whitten(spelling?) hit those threes all night long and Enix did an excellent job on the boards and blocking shots and so did Britt. The rest also played good. Congratulations to Coach Hampton and the Lions.:dancingpa
Big Slick Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Greenup couldn't hit from downtown and kept shooting them, Frankie Whitten hit 5 threes, Ruggles, Enix played well, and I thought JT Britt played his best game of the year after turning it over a 4-5 times in the first half, Lewis also played second half without 6th man Zornes who got hurt at the end of half. Coach Hampton is a magician at District time!!!!!
MBWC41 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Wow, this is a shocker... A quick ending to a drama filled season for Musketeers, I hope next season goes much better next year for the kids at Greenup. Congrats to Lewis on the upset. Good luck against Russell.
Big Slick Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 The Ramblers from Raceland might have a say in that!
FBALL Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Suprised but not shocked. Congratulations to Lewis Co.
Log Mountain Boy Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 This is a very sad ending for the Greenup team. Those poor players have had to go through a lot this year. It isnt fair for them at all.
BogeyMan Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Hampton does it again. He is the master of getting the most from his team when it counts.

RA09 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 No better coach in the 16th region come March. Lewis Co. is no doubt in my mind the worst draw anyone could have in district play. Hampton does it time after time, no matter if he has no talent or all the talent in the world.
KY Buckeye Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Pretty entertaining ballgame and a great atmosphere at Lewis County. You have to give it to those fans, regardless of the record they come out and go crazy. I'm at a game just about every night and that was as loud as I've heard it anywhere this year. LC just kind of seemed to play with more energy throughout, with GC almost looking shellshocked at times. You kept thinking a GC run was coming but it never really materialized and LC was seemingly there with a huge shot. GC actually took an early 2nd half lead at like 27-25 but then LC finishes out the quarter on something like an 18-6 run with Witten hitting three threes in just over a minute. Then GC cuts it to 46-43 with about 4:00 to play and Lewis closes with the last 12 points.
