MSUEagles Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Glad to see my Vikings win the R.C.I.T. Good job!
crimedoc Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Nice job to both teams. Great seasons for both of them. Wish them both well at regionals. Congrats Matt D. Hope you finish strong kid.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Congrats to Rowan on the win and with the injury to Vanhoose, the 16th is going to be a wild ride in Morehead.
BogeyMan Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Rowan once again wins the weakest district in the region and maybe the state:sleep:  Big surprise.
highschoolsportsfan Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Rowan once again wins the weakest district in the region and maybe the state:sleep:  Big surprise. Don't hold back Bogey, tell us how you really feel!
FOOTBALL PRIDE Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 yes, but still congrats, which district will they draw in region.
BogeyMan Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I am not big on conspiracy theories, but this district has been set up and tailor made for Rowan to be in the regional ever since Breck shut down. Every time a change was suggested over the years the KHSAA shot it down, until it was decided to ship out Morgan County and add powerful Fleming County. Then it was acceptable. Funny that happened right when Morgan was giving Rowan County fits every year.
stripedshirt Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I believe the district realignment was based somewhat on geography. What other "powerful" team makes geographic sense to include in the 61st district? Do you think the KHSAA is responsible for the coaching carousel at Menifee and Bath? Maybe with some stability in those positions they will be able to build a program that competes on a more regular basis. There has been plenty of talent at both schools in the past few years. As for Fleming, they were competitive on a regular basis prior to joining the 16th and I believe they will continue to be as a member of the 61st district. Paranoia.....it'll destroy ya.........
BogeyMan Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Not paranoia...It goes back to the three team district they were allowed to keep forever. The original plan was to move a team from a five team district in the 10th Region into the 16th, but Rowan's protectors on the Board of Control voted that down. It stayed a 3 team until finally the 4th was moved in. Hopefully Fleming or Bath will come up with some talent they can keep and at least make the District more than the Viking Invitational. Menifee appears to be a lost cause.
scorekeeper Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Um...I really think that Montgomery County would have been a better geographic fit into the district than Fleming. From Morehead to Mount Sterling it takes about 30-35 freeway minutes. To Flemingsburg is close to the same time, but on rural two-lane roads. That's just my thinkning...it's not always rational.
BogeyMan Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 No way does Montgomery ever get moved from the 10th.
highschoolsportsfan Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 No way does Montgomery ever get moved from the 10th. You got that right Bogey:thumb:
