  1. Don't know much about skiing but Hazard and PCC split two games the years you refer to. I hope tou are right about Estill and Powell, because I would rather Lee play Powell, because Estill has proven to be the best team. Unfortunately, I look for Lee and Estill to tip it off Friday. BTW, Lee proved that you can beat a team four times in a year last night.
  2. Leslie has won twice. Make it three times.
  3. This does qualify Cordia for region, right?
  4. Fetters, Rich, Brandenburg too much for Owls. Anybody thinks Neeley is not top notch player wasn't at this game.
  5. How many times? I'm sure it happens occasionally, but often enough to say that it is hard to win three times? Lee has beat Owsley and Estill three times this year, Owsley beat Lee and Wolfe three times last year. Wolfe beat Powell three times last year. It just ain't that hard. I'll take the team that has won twice head up every single time. Sure, I'll lose occasionally, but in the long run I would be a very wealthy man.
  6. Somebody at KABC must be reading my posts. He surely deserves the honor.
  7. Why is it hard to beat a team three times? If team A has beaten team B twice in the same season, it would seem that team A has pretty well established that they are the best team, and will win the third game almost every time.
  8. Lee County has plenty of room for that banner, not won since 1989. The Bobcats will be ready.
  9. Wow. That really opens up region a little more, as now no one will have to play Knott on their home floor, and in my opinion puts to rest debate as to whether or not JBS is a contender.
  10. I thought Stamper played better vs. Lee on friday, but Gilbert has the bad hand and probably a little stale yet from layoff.
  11. One thing for certain, either Hazard or Perry Central is out in the frst round of 54th.
  12. Bball king is an old geezer with a swag in his back too, so should be a real interesting sight.
  13. The only person here that has watched 56th district basketball longer than me is the Professor, maybe. Believe me when I say Lee County basketball was at the bottom. What Coach Wright has done is that he has completely revived interest in basketball, and has got the kids to stick with the program, rather than deciding at some point there is something they would rather do. He has made the team fun to watch, and certainly brings an unmatched passion to the game. His own coaching skills have improved tremendously over the past four years. True, the talent level is up, but would these kids still be around, and would they play has hard, but for Coach Wright?
  14. I agree with the Den. By any objective standard, Gilbert is the best.
  15. If Lee County doesn't completely overlook Owsley the Bobcats will win, but they had best remember that this is the game that lets them advance to region, not the next one.
  16. What do you think? I say Danny Wright. When you think of where Lee County was (about 10 people at a game vs. Augusta in mid 90's), and where they are now (one of 14th Region favorites) I say he absolutely is deserving.
  17. It would seem to me that the folks that run the all a can make whatever rules they see fit, it is their show. A word of caution though, when you start changing a good thing, the results are not always what you hope for.
  18. Gilbert- Wolfe Hicks- Hazard Rich- Lee Berryman- Estill Stepp- JBS These are best that I have seen, I freely admit that I may well have left out players that I just simply have never seen play.
  19. Tough win for Bobcats. Chris Stamper is a top-notch player, that in my opinion doesn't get the credit due.
  20. Last night I saw a piece on the news about an autistic kid in New York that was allowed to dress out for the last game of his senior year as a reward for four years of serving as a manager for the team. He got into the game and was able to score twenty points in less than four minutes (six three's and a two pointer). The absolute joy of his family, teammates and schoolmates was something to behold. I know of no other level of competetive sports where so many work so hard simply for the love of the game. This was a perfect example of what can happen sometimes when a bunch of kids play ball.
  21. My favorite team and next favorite play Tuesday in District. No secret I pull for Lee, but I really want Owsley to work through its problems and succeed. Good win for the Owls, as Breathitt has improved. Owsley is a much better team with Neeley.
  22. I don't think I've ever seen a high school tteam score 37 points in a quarter. Lots of 3's?
