Danny Wright has been named 14th region Coach of the Year by the KABC and will recieve this award at the sweet sixteen in Rupp

Why do they pick the Coach of the Year so early? I think the districts and regions should play into how the coach does over the "year."

It is probably based on regular season performance.

Coach Wright had done an outstanding job and he deserved this award. He has a team that has to be one of the favorites to win the 14th.

Coach Wright is one of the best motivator's of players that I have seen. He gets the most out of his players, and Lee County is lucky to have found him. Congrats to him and his coaching staff.

Coach Wright has done a great job this year, won over 20 games, the All A, and is a serious threat to get Lee County back to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1973. Congratulations to him on his award.

One of our former coaches, Tim Bobrowski, won it one year, and I remember feeling very proud of him when he walked out on the Rupp floor and was recognized during the state tournament. It's a good feeling to hear the name of your coach, and your county's name, over the Big Bertha P. A. system at the house that Rupp built. It is a great reward for a lot of hard work.
