Most or all regional tournaments play the entire 1st Round on Memorial Day.

This is a first round game of the All A State Tournament at Applebees Park this weekend! I don't know a lot about Walton-Verona, but Hazard is coming in playing pretty good baseball today. Any thoughts on this one.

Hazard came out and played great from the start. I believe it was 6-0 after the 1st inning. Congratulations to the Bulldogs and Good Luck at Applebees against Walton Verona.

Who played for the 14th Region team?

Here is a typical excuse, but it is true. This is a very young team. They rely on freshmen and sophomores with only 1 senior and a small number of juniors on the team. This is a young team that really does have some talent. Hopefully this bunch can stick it out and proove the doubter wrong. ALC play again tomorrow on Wednesday against Bluefield. before entering their final conference series against Berea.

Due to the rain ALC and IUS only played 1 game with ALC falling short making the 9-23 on the season and 2-9 in the conference. As of now they are in last place of the conference with one more conference series with Berea this coming weekend. They still have a shot at finishing 3rd in the conference. Today, they play Cumberland.

ALC lost both games on Friday to IUS on Friday giving them an overall record of 9-22 and a conference record of 2-4. They complete the 4 game series with IUS on Saturday.

Pretty good one for the 14th Region All A Championship. Hazard jumped up with a lead and Lee Co. came back. Hazard was able to hold them off. Congrats to Hazard on their win.

They only have 1 senior as well. Fairly young with some real talent on the team. They need to pick it up and finish the season off strongly.

This was a pretty good game on both sides. They both made their plays and had timely hits. All in all impressive game on both sides. Jackson City came to the game with the intention of winning and almost pulled it off. Great effort by the Tigers. Hazard survived in this one. Never really got the hits they needed. Good win for the Dawgs. The pitcher for Jackson City done a great job. Never got rattled and held his own. Hazard's starter done the same, maybe got a little tired. The relief pitcher that came in is probably Hazard's #2. Threw much harder and Jackson had a hard time catching up to the FB. Much better game to sit through than the first game of the night.

The game against Pikeville was called after the 10th Inning due to darkness. ALC led the entire game and had a chance to win, but Pikeville was able to tie it late and force a 10th Inning. However, it does seem that ALC is playing a little better. They enter another conference series agains Indiana University SE starting Friday. Right now ALC is tied for 3rd in the KIAC and has a good chance to improve that if they can get a couple wins in this series.

IMO, this is what beat them. I can't understand holding your top guy back when you have to win.

Yes, I saw that on their web site about Smith getting Pitcher of the Week. He threw an excellent game against Asbury this past weekend. They split with Asbury winning 2 and losing 2. Then they won two against New River making them 9-20. They play Pikeville today.

Riverside is a small christian school. This is the All A or Hazard would not be playing them. I look for this to be a good opportunity for the JV to get some at bats and time on the field for Hazard.

I look for Hazard to have an easy one in this game. Everyone should get to play in this one.
