It would be great for any kid to leave this area and walk on at UK. But, I honestly think Clark would benefit playing for a smaller school. This kid wants to play and has the ability to play. He may not get that at UK. Maybe an OVC type team or NAIA team. The kid can play. The main reason no one likes him is because of the way his uncles have put him out there. He only plays the way is told to. I wish him nothing but the best no matter where he chooses to go.

Give this kid some credit. He can play. Not sure if he is at the UK/UT level, but Billy G loves walk ons. The only downfall Clark has is his coaching staff. Get him under a coach who doesn't focus everything on him and I think he will be better. If he would've used Cox, Short, and Collins more, his numbers would've been better. Things would've opened up more for him.

This is the toughest first round match-up. This is a dangerous draw for Hazard. Cordia has the talent to come in and beat Hazard, but I am not sure they have the horses. I'll take Hazard by 5.

I think the key to beat Hazard is to stop Whitaker's penetration. It opens up a lot on the inside. Make them beat you on the outside. There isn't a team in the region that can match up to Hazard inside presence. Stop Whitaker and you stop Hazard. BUT, that is easier said than done.

Any thoughts on this one? Should be a pretty good one. It will be played on Saturday.

Big time rivalry for the championship of the 54th District tonight at PCC. Should be a great one. Hazard has been the top team about all season. PCC has been playing much better basketball since the last time they faced each other. Any thoughts?

I really thought the effort was there for Buckhorn. Hazard was just more athletic and is very deep. It will take a good game to beat them. Big rivalry game for the district championship. They have been waiting on this game for a few years now.

I agree with this the start of this thread. Clark only played the system he was put into. The coaches put this into his head early when he was in grade school. This team had talent all around on this team. The only problem I saw was the coaching staff. You give this team to a coach like Al Holland and watch out.

I like Hurt from Cordia. He isn't a flashy player, but does what he needs to do to help his team win.

This will be a great one to watch. I honestly think either could win the region. The problem is a district winner is going to have to draw the loser of this game. Tough draw for that team. I'll take LCC by 3 in OT.

Both teams have made a good late run to meet in the championship of a tough 53rd District. It will be played on Satuday March 1 at Knott Central. Any thoughts?

I always believed that JBS had the tools to be a state champion contender. They had size, great shooters, good ball handlers, and a couple good role players off the bench. The only problem was they didn't use all the tools together. BUT, not to take anything away from LCC. They have been playing as good as anyone coming into the tournament. This was the toughest district in the 14th and either LCC or Cordia could very well win the region.

I think it will be another good one between these two. I'll take JBS in a tough one by 4.

LCC beat Jenkins and has advanced to face JBS in the semi-finals of the 53rd District. The game will be played on Wednesday Feb. 27 at 7:30 @Knott Central. LCC had JBS beat in both meetings this season and JBS has struggled down the stretch, but still is one of the favorites in the region. Any thoughts about this one?

I know the 54th and 56th Districts seed. What about the 53rd and 55th? Do they seed or draw?

This was the best draw for each team. Riverside gave them fits in the first meeting, but Jackson easily beat them last week. I think Jackson will win this one by around 20.

LCC may be the 4 seed in this district, but I think this is the toughest district in the 14th Region. I don't think LCC will have much trouble with Jenkins in this one.

Owsley was able to pull the upset against the 1 seed last season against Lee. But, I don't think Estill will let that happen this season. Estill by 16.
