  1. I just hope Lee wins, I sure don''t see a 16 point spread.
  2. Played very heady floor game, but just doesn't have shooting eye yet.
  3. Landon Johnson came up big for Bobcats in 4th quarter. As I have posted in other threads, Estill is good, Christopher and Berryman can fill it up. They will win many district and region games this year.
  4. I've not seen Buckhorn yet this year, but Jackson County is big, and strong. The Brumbeck (sp?) kid is as tough as they come in the middle. He is six-five and can really dominate the feint of heart. If Buckhorn has the same guys as last year, they definitely are not afraid of physical play, and will get after it, but Jackson County is probably too talented overall, and will probably win.
  5. I agree with other posters that a)this should not be a big surprise and b) Jackson County is a quality team. This was a good game between two of the top teams in the area, and was closer than the score indicated. Jackson Co. is big and strong. Lee, while not as big, runs the floor, plays hard defense, and shoots the ball well.
  6. Tigers look to be tough again this year. Could be a long one for Wolfe.
  7. Lee's speed and quickness beats Jackson County's size and strength.
  8. Daniel Neeley can play. I don't know anything at all about Owen County's team, but I am sure they are now much improved. KHSAA made the right decision regarding eligibility here, as Daniel's circumstances are unique. Agreed, Professor?
  9. I don't think I said Estill would beat anyboy "handily". I hope Lee beats everybody. All I am saying is, underestimate Estill County at your own peril. Powell may be returning 11 players, but I need some convincing after watching them at the end of last season.
  10. Estill will contend. I believe that Berryman and Christopher are two of the better player's in the 14th. They are most definitely a threat on the 56th, especially as it is at a neutral site, Owsley County, this year. I really don't think anyone will overlook them. They will be at least as good either Lee or Powell, and to say that they can beat either is an understatement.
  11. Bill Clinton in the Oval Office, Joseph Kennedy in a car, William Jefferson in a freezer, Mark Foley on the interenet, Dennis Hastert who at the very least let a situation slide that warranted more investigation, etc., etc, etc. WHY DO WE PUT UP WITH THIS FOOLISHNESS???? These people, regardless of their political party, are our chosen leaders! When do we say, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!" If you need to be in rehab for a substance abuse problem, what are you doing in Congress, making the rules for the rest of us to live by? Throw the bums out. Don't defend them, don't say one is worse than the other, GET RID OF THEM! None of them deserve our respect, much less our support. We should be more interested in taking our government back, instead of arguing Democrats are more immoral than Republicans, or vice versa. I am officially putting my representatives on notice, you get caught with somebody else's wife, daughter or son, you get caught slapping a Congressional police officer, you get accused of a crime, any crime, and it appears that you have put yourself in a situation that there is validity to that accusation, you in any way stray from the straight and narrow, I don't care what party you belong to, what rehab you check into, how sincere your apology to your wife, family, friends and supporters sound, I am going to use my meager influence vote you out when I get the chance. WHO IS WITH ME?
  12. One reason he has not been arrested is because "he is someplace where no one can find him" according to CNN. Also there was a former page on ABC that says they were warned about Foley as early as 2001 by House Clerk's Office. My question is, if ABC News can find out about this, why not the leadership of the House, who have apparently known for awhile that something wasn't exactly right?
  13. Estill with Berryman and Christopher back will seriously contend for 56th District. It is a BIG mistake to overlook these guys. Estill soundly defeated Powell in semifinals last year, and took Lee to the limit at Lee County. Beware the Engineers.
  14. The last time I saw Powell play was at the 56th District Tournament, and it was not pretty. I know there is a new coach and all, but.....
  15. I hope that's not true. I have watched him since he was a freshman, and have really admired his ability, even when he was putting it to Lee. If anyone from Owen County is reading, this kid is GOOD, and needs to be encouraged.
  16. I saw Matt Eversole's Mommy a few minutes ago she didn't mention it. I hope not. Matt perkins probably number one pitcher for Lee next year. Matt Eversole may be number one player in region.
  17. Professor posted on another thread he transferred to Owen County. I gotta believe it if Professor said it, especially if it concerns Owsley basketball.
  18. It appears that Jason Jewell is the new Lee County head coach. Jason played for Gene Combs and is familiar with the system. He teaches Industrial Arts at Lee, and also coaches the golf team. He is an Iraqi War veteran, a quality young man, and will be an excellent role model. Good decision by Lee County administration.:thumb:
  19. This is real blow to Owls. I had heard some talk this might happen week or so ago, but was just rumor at that time. Last year was rocky one for Daniel, sounds to me like he just really never got over it. Too bad, I sincerely believed he would be one of top players in 14th.
  20. Lee plays Clark County year in and year out, and plays them competitively. I would wager that the folks at Clark County, at least, will agree that this is a quality move for Montgomery County.
  21. Lee County won the 14th Region twice since 2000, has made the final eight in the state once. Lee has also won the last two 14th Region All "A" tournaments, played in the final eight this year at Applebee's Park, and has been consistently one of the best teams in Eastern Kentucky. Numbers have been a problem for Lee, a small enrollment always makes pitching a problem. Coach Combs is an excellent coach, anyone familiar with his program at Lee County will tell you he is one of the best in the area. A bigger school like Montgomery County will prosper with him in charge, I will guarantee it.
