  1. I tried to tune in CBJ and it was just GONE.
  2. Lee tough again at home. Great game, both teams 14th region contenders.
  3. No bigger fan of Daniel Neeley than me, he definitely would have been one of the top players, if not the top, in the 14th if he had stayed at Owsley, but he is not really D-1 material. He can (and should) play at a lower level, though. I wish he had stayed at Owsley so I could watch him play this year, but on the other hand, I'm glad Lee doesn't have to deal with him.
  4. Powell will beat Owsley. I hope Owls prove me wrong.
  5. Lee may be a longshot, but they have beaten both Powell and Knott rather convincingly in the last few days.
  6. Lee dominated 4th quarter, and led by 22 with less than a minute to go. Lee put in subs and Knott's starters made up some ground in last minute.
  7. Probably Jared Pelfrey, Harvey's son. He has been hurt, and has not even dressed out yet. He is going to be a good center, but will be behind becauswe of injury.
  8. The Professor's point about defense and shooting accuracy is the one I have been trying to make in a couple of threads, however the Professor is more eloquent. I believe that teams don't get enough credit for causing the other sides shots not to "fall", thereby diminishing the defensive effort. Good job Owls for hanging tough, but also, good job Engineers, for finding way to pull out the win.
  9. Had other commitments and I wasn't able to get to the game, but I was able to get bits and pieces over the radio. Sounded like Romans was too much in the middle for Lee, and that Lee's shooting was stone cold, but I was pretty far away and signal would fade in and out. It did sound like a typical, physical, Powell/Lee contest, and Powell was obviously the better of the two last night.
  10. I'm not the guy making excuses here. I admit that Lee was fornunate to win last night, no argument. But when you imply, as you have that Jackson "probably should have won" , it does appear that you intend to diminish Lee County's effort, and may God forgive me, I am sensitive about that!
  11. But you do see my point, Atticus, I hope. I will soon have to explain these relatively clear matters to you in a way in which they may be understood.
  12. Let me explain, then. They DIDN'T hit their last shot, which left Jackson with 66 points at the end of the game. Lee had 68 points at the end of the game, and paraphrasing the rules, the team with the most points shall win the game. 68 is two more than 66. Lee should win. Jackson couldn't win as 66 is two less than 68.
  13. You going to love me UpnDown, I think Estill is the most underrated team in the region, then Letcher Central. Most underrated player, did anyone besides me notice that Berryman not listed here anywhere? That said, Christopher from Estill is the most underrated, as he gets even less notice than Berryman around the 14th.
  14. Jackson is without question one of the best teams in the region, probably the best in the 55th. Lee beat them on their home floor, in front of a partisan Jackson crowd. Not a lot of "ifs" here, guys. Lee played and won a big game. Shots don't fall like they should? That's the object of the game, to put the ball through the hoop. When that doesn't happen enough, you lose. Next time may be different, Lee is not that much better than Jackson, but last night, Jackson COULDN'T have won, they didn't score enough points. They SHOULDN'T have won either, for the same reason.
  15. Only 18 shopping days until Christmas, Professor. Don't let it sneak up on you.:jump:
  16. Just caught end of game. Jackson had the ball down one at the end of the game and missed a couple of shots. Hope somebody has details later. I knew it would be close.
  17. Neeley can play. Would have been one of top players in 14th. I had heard he might not play at all this year, and I sure am glad to read this news.
  18. Berryman dropping those threes with a hand in his face, getting that shot off in the blink of an eye, and being in the right place at the right time. He is smooth.
  19. Charles played for Lee as a freshman last year. He is an excellent shooter, and has led Lee in scoring the past couple of games from off the bench.
  20. Professor, what I saw last night, Berryman is the best player in the District, no ifs, ands or buts!
  21. I don't think there are thirteen better teams than Estill in the region. Who would they be? I just get a kick out of playing what some Coach or the other calls playing the old "iffin" game.
  22. If Ken Brandenburg gets his average, If Caleb Fetters doesn't get 3 fouls in the first four minutes of the second half, if the twins score at their average, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts.....
