All A Game Times
Does anybody know game times for Friday? Lee, Owsley, Wolfe and Buckhorn. One of the biggest nights ever for our end of the region. My blood pressure skyrockets just thinking about it.

Owsley County 53 June Buchanan 52...All A
Way to go Owls! Proved me wrong. Just like old 56th district days Friday.
-
Jenkins @ Lee All A
Sorry, Bill Fugate, had my friend Gary (And your brother , I believe) on my mind.
-
Jenkins @ Lee All A
Lee County by a big margin. Thanks to Gary Fugate, John Bunn, and WJSN for covering the game. Folks here in Lee County should thank the station in Jackson for putting the Bobcats on the air, and maybe we can get some more games on.

June Buchanan @ Owsley Predictions 1/25
i may very well be wrong, but i can't see the owls getting a win. JBS not only has one of the top all a teams, but may well be the best team in the 14th region.

Lee Co?
Lee County has had a rich tradition in 14th region basketball, which has made the long dry spell particularly difficult for us oldtimers. 1968 Lee county was a missed free throw away from the state championship game. Regional champions in 1973 and very strong competetive teams for the rest of 70's and most of 80's. The 90's up until now have not been kind to Lee County basketball, although other sports, particularly baseball, have prospered. Hopefully the Bobcats are back for good. This year sure has been fun. Would love to see that third trophy in the case at the school on the hill.

14th Region Sleepers?
Agree with Roundleather, region can be won by bunch of teams, but I think this weekend moves Leslie to the head of the pack.

Powell at Owsley 1/17 Predictions
I think Powell wins by about 10. I hope I'm wrong, but until proven otherwise, Owsley just doesn't have the firepower to beat a rapidly improving Powell County team.
-
Knott/Lee Predictions
Professor, Lee didn"t play that bad against Powell, except for stretch in 3rd quarter. Powell much improved. I think Lee wins a close one here, probably by about 5.

Top players - under the radar
Caleb Fetters Lee County. Can score, a-one defensive player, and can jump out of the gym.
-
Estill County 73 Owsley County 49
Just took a look at the Owls schedule, and it looks to be tough for them. They had better be meshing soon, or it could be really ugly from here on in. I saw them at Lee, and I really do think their is potential there, Neeley and Smith can carry a team if they get together. The danger is that when they realize that getting Smith back is not going to solve everything that they pack it in. They need to keep fighting. I hope they get some wins down the stretch and I think they can, but they have to keep their heads up.
-
Estill County 73 Owsley County 49
Neeley has really had to carry Owsley and it sounds like it may be catching up with him physically. Defenses really concentrated on him before Smith got back and it sounds like it has caused him to be really banged up. He is a better offensive player than six points.

Lee County 74 Powell County 69 O.T.
If Powell still had Stamper and Crowe, they would be one of very top teams in region.
-
Estill County 73 Owsley County 49
Is base ball going to be something in 56th or what? Still believe basketball Owls can be spoiler in District though.
-
Lee County 74 Powell County 69 O.T.
Professor we must have posted at same time. If you think it was fun to listen to you should've been there to watch! Great hard fought game between big rivals.
-
Lee County 74 Powell County 69 O.T.
Lee came out cold in second half and was down by 13 late 3rd and 4th quarter, came back to tie and win in OT.
-
Lee County 70 Owsley 51
Most Lee and Owsley fans get along just fine. It seems to me a few folks have got all cranked up over nothing.

Lee County 70 Owsley 51
I agree that the bickering should stop. The game should be fun, and this one was. I would like to comment, however, about the missed goaltending call. I will say that probably the referees did not see it, but an Owsley County player obviously grabbeg the rim and pulled it down, making a shot that may have gone in fall off the rim. I believe that the high school game has gotten so fast, and the players jump so much higher and that the defenses have gotten so intense that there is going to have to be some consideration to having a third referee on the floor. I have been going to games for a long time, and know many officials personally, and I don't believe for a minute that these gentlemen would consider doing anything but the right thing. I am also certain that if a cheerleader was elbowed in the chest that it was absolutely accidental. That being said, I do believe the time has come for a third official. I hope the Bobcats don't have to play Owsley again. They are going to be tough.

Lee County 70 Owsley 51
Robert Smith played and played well. Owsley is dangerous.
-
Lee County 86 OBI 44
Lee County dominated game from start to finish.

WYMT Mountain Top 10 Week 6!
I don't see how Leslie can be left out.

Lee County at Perry Central Predictions
PCC is going to be consistently better than Lee County because of the size of the school, if for no other reason. Where the games are played, who the referee's are should not matter a whit. The bigger school is usually going to be better.Teams like Lee and Owsley and other small schools do find themselves in situations where they can be competetive on occasion and this may well be such a year for Lee. Would Lee be better off if the game were in Beattyville? Of course they would. Should PCC win the game this year? Probably they should, although Lee should put up a much better fight than in the past. I hope Lee County wins, but most of all I hope they make a respectable showing, win or lose, and I honestly believe they will.

Lee County at Perry Central Predictions
Lee County must be competetive in this game to prove that they are a legitimate 14th region contender. If they come and play their game they can win, make no mistake. There certainly is enough talent and depth. The problem is that Lee has played in so few "big games" in the past fifteen years that they must step up and show that they know how to play a quality opponent and give themselves a chance to win. I say they can do it. Lee in a close one.

Lee Co 74 Wolfe Co 54
Lee County wins ten in a row. Friday night at Perry Central will demonstrate if Bobcats are truly contenders for the regional title in March.
-
Lee Co. 63 JCC 51
Lee County had not won any tournament since 1988 District Tournament, nor have they won eight straight games during that time. 3-0 in district for first time in forever. I have been watching for years, and only dreamed of beating Powell County and Owsley County both in same year much less in same week. Danny Wright has enthusiasm and willingness to work hard, he even coaches a little league team in Youth Sports. To say things are not looking up for Bobcats is ignoring the obvious.
