  1. Lee has had a couple of rainouts, and I believe that there are some rainout days built into 56th district schedule because of the seeding and the need to get all the games in.
  2. Big win for Powell. Next week's Lee/Powell game will be a big one for 56th district seeding.
  3. I dont know either. I got to game just as it was over, and didn't even walk around the outfield fence. I hope so, as Professor knows even though I am a big Lee County fan, I play around golf course with a bunch of Owsley's kids and sure don't want any misfortune for any of them.
  4. Letcher and Lee play Saturday, should be good one.
  5. Don't know, but I am sure Coach Combs had good reason. I would guess saving top pitcher for deeper in tourney? Again I would not ever second guess any decision Gene makes. He has proven conclusively he knows more than me.
  6. Pat Dad, any chance Saturdays game can will be made up?
  7. I am not sure about Knott County game, but it looks to me like you could put Perkins, Osbourne and Thomas in a sack, shake them up and not really be able to tell the difference. Josh Drake is next, he beat Cordia 9-1, and was probably who pitched against Knott last year, but again, not sure.
  8. Perkins pitched for Lee, Smith for Owsley. I got to game at end, and apparently Owsley made several crucial errors, and only run they scored o Perkins was on throwing error he made himself, so unearned. Like I say these are just reports I got from others there, so other than score and who pitched, can't personally vouch for accuracy. Lee is now 5-0, and has outscored opponents 54-6. Competition has not been the stiffest, but now that all a is over and if weather will cooperate, Lee can play some of the strong teams on schedule.
  9. Thats good to hear.
  10. Oh man, terrible news. Hope all goes well.
  11. This is according to scoreboard, and it isn't always right. Anybody got details?
  12. I know Lee and Owsley play tomorrow.
  13. Serious illness in wife's family. May not be able to make it.
  14. 56th District is at Estill I believe. Don't take it to the bank though.
  15. I knew Bowling was the right guy professor. God knows sixtyfeetsix has drilled it into me enough! Still thinking about basketball. By the way RedsFan, I do believe Lee will beat Owsley, but I don't think it will be by 10+, as I am sure one of the top two will pitch. I think Owsley is better than most people know.
  16. None. also, added Matt Eversole at first base, returning from injury, who is excellent defensive first baseman, and maybe best bat on the team. He improves Lee tremendously.
  17. It was actually the Peewee league. When he came to bat, my wife would make me stand in front of my daughter, who liked to pick grass in center field, and not watch what was going on.
  18. I think you have the winners, but Owsley will be a little tougher in the two games Smith and Neeley pitch. Without knowing which those are, I am reluctant to pick spread.
  19. All I said was just this, "how many of these guys started when Lee and Powell beat them last year". Not really that unclear.
  20. How many of these guys started last year when Lee and Powell beat them?
  21. Either a win over Clark county is impressive enough to make you the best around, (like Leslie) or it is just a team getting lucky and catching a them on a down on a down day, (like Estill). Which? you seem to be taking both sides of the argument here.
  22. Yeah, Clark probably played their A game against Estill, and Somerset looks to be no great shakes either. Owsley could probably beat them.
  23. 1. Lee 2. Leslie 3. PCC 4. Letcher Central 5. Estill 6. Knott Central 7. Powell 8. Owsley 9. Hazard 10. Cordia
  24. Maroon is just not his color.
  25. Matt Eversole is one of the finest, most personable, young men you will ever meet.
