I've noticed that almost everyone have Lee and Powell in their preseason top 5. How do you think these matchups will go. Home and away?.. who are key players for Powell and Lee? Who will make the difference in the games? and which coach, in your opinion is the best coach?

These should be some good games this year. Both Powell and Lee are loaded full of seniors. Both coaches had excellent years last year. Wright led Lee to the All A title and Lively let Jackson City to the Regional finals. I think that they will probably split the regular season games with both winning at home. Then their next game would be on a neutral court at Owsley County in the district. I look for Lee County to win this one. Lee I think just has more overall talent than Powell not to mention Lee County has more Tournament expirence than Powell.

I put the coaches at a dead heat even though I'm friends and play ball with Coach Wright. Powell's Coach (if he is still there) always impressed me with his style and intensity. But Coach Wright is just as good and has done a remarkable job. Opposing teams should thank their lucky stars HE can't play because he dominates all our games. As for the teams, I give Lee a slight edge for the reasons listed in the above post.

I would have to agree, all 3 of their matchups this year will be great games. Who ever is playing the best defense will get the wins in the big game in the district! And as for the coaches, both are great guys, but Coach Lively would hands down win in a one-on-one match up, sorry Coach Wright, but I have played with him and the boy can play!

Lee Co. was a tough team last year, and if they can find someone to replace Rich then i see Lee winning both games. I understand you can't just REPLACE Tyler Rich but find someone who will get in there and bang, and go up for the boards, that should do the trick.

I think that they may spilt the season series this year. Lee was almost impossible team to beat last year at home and Powell is always good at home so I look for Lee to win at Home and to lose at Powell.

What about Estill Co.? I noticed that most of you are talking about Lee and Powell being in the district championship. What kind of team does Estill Co. have?

The last time I saw Powell play was at the 56th District Tournament, and it was not pretty. I know there is a new coach and all, but.....

New sheriff, new style, new attitude with a lot of seniors. Powell will hold their own this year and will be fun to watch.:thumb:

Estill with Berryman and Christopher back will seriously contend for 56th District.It is a BIG mistake to overlook these guys. Estill soundly defeated Powell in semifinals last year, and took Lee to the limit at Lee County. Beware the Engineers.
