  1. I will be the first to admit Scott might not win a game this. The only chance I see now is Bellevue and Harrison County. They had better win 1 of those games or the program will really fall hard no matter who the Coach is just ask the Coach before the one they have now. Scott really is so 1 dimensional on offense everyone should see that.
  2. I believe Scott has just a couple of chances for a win this year and this might be one of them. Scott looked bad against Conner there is just no other way to put it. There offense is so one dimensional there is no need to ever scout them if you are playing them in the future. I feel sorry for Zach Sowder because he is going to take a beating this year I bet with everything he has to do for the team he is going to be one tired kid come the end of the season. I wish the Eagles the best but unless things change on offense it is going to be a long season. I did hear that the Junior High team at Woodland might be improving so I guess a couple of years down the road could be bright for the Eagles. The change in the Coaching staff last year might have boosted morale a little but I have not seen much of a change on the field. I was told we should not judge the team by the score on the board this year but judge them on improvement after each game I guess every coach would say that but teams are judged by wins and losses and that's the bottom line and with that said the Eagles will be in familiar territory again this year.
  3. Guess I am just for the 10th region more since Scott plays in it. Beechwood beats Cov Cath in 9th region finals and Harrison beats Beechwood easily in 2 games. You might be right Cov Cath probably would have been a better series for Harrison but we will never find out because 1 team didn't make it there. I guess that is why we have the old saying that's why we play the game because anything can happen on any given day.:ylsuper:
  4. Congratualations to Harrison County keep on going boys make the 10th region proud. Beechwood great job no one thought you would be here. To be honest I don't think it would have mattered if Cov Cath made it here either they would have probably lost in 2 games also. Harrison to strong for the 9th Region this year.
  5. EJ is an outstanding player and has been for the Eagles for 4 years. I however believe that after watching him play for a while that he will have to be a second baseman at the college level. I just don't think he has a strong enough arm to play short in college. He can field and hit with the best of them and any college would be getting a great competitor so some college needs to step up and make the kid a offer. I would love to see him play for NKU that way I could still watch him play some. Great job EJ with 10th region player of the year you deserved it.:thumb::thumb:
  6. I would not bring AJ back at all if you want to beat Harrison you need to throw a slow junk ball pitcher. I have seen them struggle with these kind of pitchers before. To me that is the best bet to have a chance against Harrison not to say by doing this you will win but Harrison sets good on fast ball pitchers because they are aggressive at the plate. i still think Harrison wins this series because they are a baseball factory that produces good players. They don't replace players they just reload.:thumb::thumb:
  7. Good news for the kid I was there and witnessed it glad everything is Ok. I would like to thank the Harrison County boys for helping with the tarp last night you guys are great and also thank Coach Whitaker for allowing them to help.
  8. We shall see Bourbon hasn't played the schedule Scott has this year.:ylsuper:
  9. You might be right Harrison County might win it this year. I do think however they might not be as lucky this year as last year weather wise. Last year because of rain the region got pushed back a little I believe and their Ace pitcher was able to pitch in every Regional game which definately helped them. I am not saying they don't have any pitching this year I believe they do because it is Harrison County just don't know if they have anyone as strong as the kid from last years staff. I think if they pitched anyone else but the Martin kid last year in the Championship against Scott they probably lose but who knows it is baseball and anything can happen. Scott barely gets past Calvary in Districts this year but they do and go on to defeat Campbell County in District Championship. It will all be sorted out by Thursday next week good luck to all and let the games begin.
  10. I believe however you can't play a team from same district in 1st round. Therefore Scott can't play Campbell in first round.
  11. Probably right has had more talented teams than this one in the past. Congratulations boys on winning the district didn't think it would happen especially after the performance against Calvary on Monday. Offense definately needs to pick up in the Regional Tourney which I hear will be at Scott this year which will be great. Good luck boys bring home a Regional Championship now !!!!!!
  12. You are right I don't see how they could be peaking at the right time when they lost to Conner on Monday. However when they play good defense they win games seems like the offense always shows up. I don't believe this years Eagles team can compare to last years with pitching and defense but offensively they seem to be a better all around hitting team compared to last years team. I think if the Eagles make it out of districts it just depends on the draw they get in the Region. The potential is there if the pitching and defense can stay above average because the offense is definately peaking right now.:ylsuper:
  13. Best NKY team in 10th region might be right but they are the #2 seed in the district tourney to be played at Scott this year. Campbell and Brossart play each other on Tuesday and Scott will play the winner of Silver Grove and Calvary also on Tuesday.:ylsuper::thumb:
  14. The Sowder kid seems to be becoming the Ace of the Scott staff this year. This kid is only and Junior wow 1 more year on the Varsity staff. Scott seems to have the hitting and pitching to make a post season run but their defense could be the downfall only time will tell. Wish them all the luck and hope they make a deep post season run.
  15. Definately wrong info on this I know for a fact this game was cancelled. Harrison might have beaten Scott County 9-2 but not Scott High.
  16. I did notice the building behind the back-stop it looks very nice and I am sure the batting cages inside are nice also this helps out alot especially during the off season kids can hit year around. Still think the complex is number 5 in nky but that is just my opinion.:ylsuper:
  17. The field definately looks better than it has in the past. The home dug-out is nice and behind the back-stop looks real nice now but other than that really don't see no more improvements over the last 5 years that have taken place. Krumps and Michels do a great job on the field getting it ready to play on day in and day out. I would definately put it in the top 6 fields in NKY 1.St Henry- Like a minor league park 2.Scott- spaced out nice best concession with press box and locker-rooms and best lighting of all fields 3. Dixie- Newest of all but fences are short because not enough land 4.Campbell- Nice but up on a big hill concessions and restrooms to far away from field 5. Cov Cath-Maintenance on field is great with the coaches need new pa system and concession stand. 6. Boone- nice grass infield pitchers mound is way to high though
  18. Now that seems more legit. Does anyone ever proof read the paper or other articles before they post ? Seems like there are more mistakes now for some reason maybe cutbacks because of the economy.
  19. Luke is a great player and will be in college and probably the pro's.The 1,165 hits in his high school career has to be a misprint no way he has that many hits I doubt if he had close to that many plate appearances. Maybe they are counting his dads hits in high school to just kidding he is great kid and a great athlete and will be for many years to come. Cov Cath might need a new stat person though.
  20. You are right the right fielder for Scott did seem to look lost at times trying to catch the ball but the sun was a liitle bit bad out there. There should be no excuses for missing balls with or without the sun especially since he is a 3 year Varsity starter for Scott in right field. The right fielder however is leading NKY in homeruns and rbi's I know this for a fact and other people would to if Scott would turn statistics into the paper. So I guess sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. I still would let him play right field for me anytime if I had a team.
  21. Guys I am a Scott supporter but let's be realistic about next year. With only 2 experienced players returning in Sowder and Gaupel no way Scott goes 5-5 I think realistic maybe 1 win in Cooper and that's a maybe. They do have a good Coach in Campbell but JV last year didn't produce much also Freshman team not very good. I wish them all the luck but don't expect to much from the Eagles next year hope they prove me wrong. I did hear however that they are getting a new football complex that will be started on on July if this is true maybe the old saying if you build it they will come might help the Eagles.
  22. Bellevue looked very good swinging the bats and on defense looks like they have been practicing for a while. Scott looked very slow and like they haven't been hitting much during the off season. I have it from a reliable source that the only time Scott can have batting practice is outside in parking lot or on field. No batting cages for these boys inside building or outside of building what a joke. Kenton County needs to take care of this if the school won't. Simon Kenton and Dixie both have inside and outside cages to practice in. This is another reason that shows Scott is the lowest when it comes to facilities of the other 2 county schools.
  23. Kellen Smith was the assist leader in NKY this year. Kellen had a good game along with Nikola and Keylo. I was referring to the other 2 starters scoring 0 points can't happen in a game of this magnitude and expect to win. People can say yeah it was a bad night which is fine but way to many missed lay-ups........ Eagles will be fine in 2010 and probably will be right back here again playing Clark in the Region but I hope with different results !!!!!!!!
  24. Nikola ends his Scott career with a very strong performance. Kellen and Nikola carried the team in this last game with help from Keylo scoring 35 points between the three and the rest of the team only scoring 5 points ouch ( sounds like a UK game ) 3 starters score a combined 3 points that can't happen in a game of this magnitude. The season is over and the Eagles must look forward to next year I believe athletic wise the Eagles will be stronger next year than this year. The Eagles have a great coach in place and must make sure he doesn't leave the Taylor Mill area for many years to come.
  25. Harrison County definately favorite to win Region. Campbell, Scott , Brossart up in the air who will win the District. Districts at Scott this year. Scott will also be holding the Region this year.
