YeSsIr Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 This game took 8 innings and was won by the Breds at Campbell County on their Senior night. Great game
KY Thorobred Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Quality win, was there a jv game after the v game?
covprob Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Nope as I said last night there wasn't going to be one.
memyselfandi Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Quality win, was there a jv game after the v game? No it was cancelled due to KATS testing tomorrow I think at Harrison Co.
Blueflyer Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Did Campbell play good or is Harrison not as good as advertised?
KY Thorobred Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Did Campbell play good or is Harrison not as good as advertised? HC had 2 errors in the first (that is all that I was able to hear of the game) ...but still beat the best 10th region NKY team on their senior night.
Breds Fan Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Fowler started and was relieved by Thompson in the second inning. Jared Martin then came in during the sixth to relieve Thompson.
SHS EAGLE Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 HC had 2 errors in the first (that is all that I was able to hear of the game) ...but still beat the best 10th region NKY team on their senior night. Best NKY team in 10th region might be right but they are the #2 seed in the district tourney to be played at Scott this year. Campbell and Brossart play each other on Tuesday and Scott will play the winner of Silver Grove and Calvary also on Tuesday.:ylsuper::thumb:
Breds Fan Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 My correction above. Thompson relieved Fowler in the first inning.
clutch0011 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 It really all came down to pitching. The bats were really alive for both teams. I thought the Camels hit the ball with a lot more power than the Breds but the Breds found holes. Camels played better defense but I thought the baserunning of the Breds was a little better. When the Camels put in Albright (not sure the spelling) thats when things kind of fell apart. He couldn't throw strikes consistantly and got in trouble with bad counts. I haven't seen the Camels beet Harrison in a few years but this was there chance. Not sure if they didn't want to show some of their other pitchers in relief before the Region but you got to get past the districts first. Really good game though. #13 for the Camels was mashing everything he hit last night. Good luck to the Camels seniors as they move on.

The Camels won last season at Harrison in the regular season showdown. But regional tourney is what matters obviously. Exactly correct, the Breds were a great hitting team hitting it hard to all fields, but the Camels did show more pop. Camels pitching issues come with walks but it's all been getting a whole lot better. Th Camels have chance to go and meet Harrison again deep in the regional tourney, but also could lose in the first round of districts to Brossart, hopefully these great seniors continue to play long into May.

Sorry, I should have explained more. I, myself, have never saw the Camels beat the Breds at home in a few years. Hopefully we will see a rematch in the Region with a Camels win.
Breds Fan Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Harrison hit more deep fly balls in this game then they have in a while. Both teams had alot of pop in the bat but I would have to say Harrison hit the ball alot harder with more solid contact than Campbell but props to Campbell for being by far the best hitting team the breds have played this year in the 10th region. Defense was the key for Harrison.
