  1. All 3 of these young men make big hits and big plays. Not to mention the rest of the defense like Roller, Dierig, Alford, Seidl, and Sullivan fly around the field making plays. Good luck to both teams!
  2. Congrats to S.K. Best of luck the rest of the season!:thumb:
  3. I'm not sure where they went, but it must have been good because they played awesome last night.............
  4. I heard somewhere around 50-60 yards. Another nice job by the Birds defense.
  5. I'm sure both teams have improved since earlier in the season. I like what I've seen from the Birds this week in practice. The focus, discipline and attention to detail was obvious. As LN has pointed out, Dale is unpredictable. Almost reminds me of practices during the playoffs. That's not to imply in anyway the Birds are looking past the Raiders. That's not going to happen with the coaching staff. I expect the game to be hard fought by two good teams.
  6. That's great to hear about Jacob. He's struggled this season due to illnesses. I'm very happy for that young man. I also love the way Ian McGurn and Jason Waldenmeyer play. Watching them on the scout teams against the Varsity is only making them better for next year. Best of luck to all 3 of them.....
  7. The Long Snapper is Mitchell Meyer (Soph). He did a fantastic job last night as some have pointed out. I was also impressed with Austin Bowling on the D-line for HHS in the second half. He was in Cov. Caths. backfield several times.
  8. Seen both teams play and I'd have to go with Beechwood. They have too much team speed for Bellevue.
  9. I agree. I think Austin has stepped up and improved every game. I'm very happy to see he looks like he's having fun playing the game. His pass defense today was excellent. I gotta give Tyler Fennell some credit today at running back. He hasn't been getting many carries over the past few weeks, but today when he was needed he really stepped up. I also have to give Hunter Schlosser credit today. He has several blocks today that were devastating. On defense I thought Roller and Dierig had typical solid games that's become expected of them. Nice game Birds!
  10. How does George Grote's injury effect Highlands to start the season?
  11. I'm not aware that Highlands tracks defensive stats other than fumble recoveries and interceptions. But, after watching tapes of each game I'd say Brandon Roller would be the leading tackler followed by Cameron Dierig.
  12. After watching the tapes, there were other infractions committed by Dixie. In the first quarter #32 for Dixie threw a punch that was flagged. I thought this type of penalty usually resulted in an ejection? The player that committed the foul stayed in the game. The play you're referring to took place in the 3rd quarter. Yes, it was obvious and right in front of the referee.
  13. As others have said, HHS couldn't compete week in and week out with the GCL. The bodies are just not there.
  14. Glad to see Ian McGurn get into the endzone. I see him working extremely hard during practice on the scout offense and defense. Good to see him rewarded in the JV game.
  15. After watching the Birds practice yesterday, I like what I saw and I like what i didn't see. One, they seemed focused as usual and working hard. The practice was spirited and all business. Two, there didn't seem to be a St. X glory effect on their approach to practice. I think this may have to do with the coaches pointing out mistakes during the St. X game. As we all know, coaches have away of bringing players down a few notches during tape reviews.
  16. Yes he is, but Thomas is no longer at Transy or playing baseball.
  17. Woooo! I just thought it was a nice comment from a fan that attending the game. I didn't mean to imply anything other than the fact he was gracious about winning and displayed that in a classy way. Didn't mean to offend (confuse) you.
  18. Very nice and classy post. We ALL need to remember these are young men doing their very best at all times.:thumb:
  19. Thanks for the vote of confidence "raider"! I'll be sure to pass it along. I have alot of faith in the HHS Defense. Keep in mind, they've been playing without a few key members for the last 3 weeks. They'll be ready this week! Good luck to both teams.
  20. This is a very sad situation. I hope both families as well as others involved can now move forward. God Bless all of them.
  21. What little bit I saw, I did like the way the D played today. The LB Corps are headhunters.
  22. I'm very glad I gave up my season tickets this year and didn't have to sit through it. Not wasting my money and time at PBS was priceless.............
