Off the top of my head I can only think of 5 players that don't play other sports, Daily's (2), Rizzo, Liggett and Sainola. All 5 of these players play baseball through the Fall. I'm only thinking of Varsity players however.

I'd throw Teddy Abner's name in there for the Birds this season, along with others already mentioned. He'll provide senior leadership because of the way he plays the game and is well liked and respected by his teammates.

Last I heard, football's a team sport. Just messing with ya DMZ.....I hope they enjoyed the day.

No way! We're not letting him go anywhere. Just joking of course:D. I'm surprised not more of the coaches at HHS don't get mentioned more often when vacancies come up. Then again, I'm glad they don't. Good luck to Newport on their search.

My family has had the chance to get to know Coach Turner and his family outside of football. This man is genuine. He's a class act and has the heart of gold towards all people. Any young man that's fortunate to be coached by him will get more than football knowledge. They'll get a true role model.

I'm sure the meeting was informational and productive. I wish all the baseball coaches and players well this upcoming season. I've been lucky enough to become friends with the Head Coach over the past 3 years. I love his approach and his commitment to the game and to the program at HHS. I'm sure his policies and expectations will be very clear to all involved. Coach B is first class!!!!:thumb::thumb:

That's a great story and a lesson in HHS History. I'm glad you posted it. I'm sure my son will be very interested to read the article. These are the type of stories that make communities like Ft. Thomas so special.

Might as well add the rest of the Jr's to be Sr's next season to your list of favorites. Neil, Moyer, Gugal, Bankamper and Dierig all will contribute in some fashion to the "team's" success next season. Bankamper played on most of the special teams and had a fantastic JV season at RB and LB. Dierig started 5 games on the DL this season for the Birds and was in the rotation gaining valuable experience all season.

Personally I think it's time for this thread to stop! Some should be ashamed!

I can't address the number of players, but over the years some of the more successful names coming out of the program have gone through the FTJFL. I'm sure you know who they are, Smith, Kues, Diehl, Colopy to name a few. Like you I am curious?

NCC should also give credit to the FTJFL coaches for teaching so many of their players the fundamentals of the game.

Teams in this tournament along with the fact it's named after a very special lady will put fans in the seats. Thanks for reminding me about the tournament. We'll be there. GO LADY BIRDS!:thumb:

The Birds were in Death Valley today hitting the sleds and doing their agility drills.

Your facility is top-notch. It's a very nice place to enjoy high school football. Also, I was fortunate to meet two locals in the endzone during the game. They were absolutely great. They were passionate about their football. I'm sure we'll be seeing JC again in the near future!

Is there a baseball meeting this week? I heard Jeremy will be attending the Athletic Booster meeting this week to introduce himself. If this is true, this is a classy and smart move on his part. Nothing better then developing a relationship with a group that potentially funnels $ to your program.
