These two were a very nice 1-2 punch for the Birds this year along with the rest of the guys on defense. Other than watching them play every Friday, I also enjoyed hearing the after game stories about conversations that took place on the field.:sssh:
Anytime a program is recognized nationally is a great honor for the local area as well as the entire state. Congratulations to the players, coaches and community.:thumb:
The week leading up to the State Championship can produce many distractions. How well a team handles the distractions can be essential to how they perform come game time. I've seen all 3 practices this week for the Birds and they were very focused and making good use of their time on the field. At this point of the season the "teaching" is over. It's time to put it all together for the game of their lives. I'm predicting a great game with great effort by both teams. Good luck to the young men on both teams. I'm sure your respective communities are very proud of you. Go Birds!
Great article about Tyler. You won't find many other young men as well rounded as him. Congratulations Tyler, well deserved. Keep up the good work!:thumb:
TBirds, Tyler is fine. He was at our house this afternoon and we watched the game tape. You're right, it was very unnecessary to say the least. Fortunately he didn't suffer serious injury and the penalty was called.
Having been at practice both Monday and Tuesday this week, I like what I've seen from the Birds. As always, the weekly new wrinkles in the gameplan are to counteract the Birds opponents strengths and weaknesses.
I predict a very good highschool football game Friday night. Best of luck to both teams. Go Birds!:thumb:
The D "nose" for HHS is Justin Johnson (JJ). I've noticed he's gotten much better over the past 6 weeks. I thought he had 3 great games against Ryle, Montgomery Co., and Dixie.
