  1. I like your thinking, but first things first!
  2. What did we expect from the Jackson family? He wasn't my favorite, but I do recognize he had talent.
  3. Thanks. I knew his son was at the middle school, but I wasn't sure what grade.
  4. Does he have a son that will be trying out for one of these teams?
  5. I agree with you to a point Guru. I don't want Will to think this season is all on his shoulders. He's a great player and wonderful young man, but this team needs to realize they have to continue to work hard ALL season. They have the opportunity to have a great season and make wonderful memories. At some point this season they'll be challenged (as most teams) to see how bad they want it. If they stay together as a team the sky's the limit for this group. Good luck to all of you! GO BIRDS!:thumb:
  6. The Lineman looked AWESOME down in the valley!
  7. I've only seen the show once or twice while searching channels, but each time he looked like he was in beaten down state. She must be something to be around?
  8. I also think the scouts are going to love what they see in Kyle Welz this season at Highlands. I'm not sure, but he's in the 6'6" range and about 250 lbs. I think this young man is going to have a great season for the Birds!
  9. 3pete, I think the Birds OL may be the best in NKY overall. They're going to have a combination of size, speed and athletic ability. Plus they have the "T" factor in Coach Turner.
  10. Coach Flynn attended the Booster Meeting tonight. This is the first time I've met him. He seems very excited and appreciative to be coming to Highlands. Smart move on his part since the Boosters have the resources to funnel dollars into his program.
  11. I'm not sure about the coaching question you asked. But, I did like the quote in the paper from Flynn wanting to open the door and contact former players about scrimmages and being involved in the program. Sounds like you better get the hightops back out...................
  12. The Board approved adding Freshman Baseball next season tonight. Great move for the baseball program.
  13. You'll see Frosh Baseball before you see a 6th Grade Basketball Team.
  14. tdy, your information is accurate as far as I can tell. From what I know, you have to be retired for a set number of days before you can re-apply for any position within State Government. And yes, I did hear Nick was the new head coach.
  15. Here are the names I recall. Tony Guidugli Adam Dempsey Nick Martin Oliver Head
  16. Whatever it is, I wish him the best. Hoping for a speedy recovery. The Reds need him in the lineup. He's a great talent!
  17. Your right LN. ORSANCO is a great resource for water quality data and species conditions in the Ohio River. They're located on Kellogg Ave and have several test areas along the river that are monitored daily. As for your ill effects, I'll wait for another thread!
  18. I know nothing about Disco music. But, the fact Rick James sang a song "Super Freak" is absolutely funny!
  19. I agree! In Regionals there is no tomorrow, if you don't win.

  21. I agree with some that the re-birth of a Ft. Thomas Youth Basketball would not only be a good way to develop basketball players, it would also serve as a way to gain interest in the high school program. The more kids playing a sport through the 8th grade, the better the picking is for the high school level. Once a young person is "cut" from a sport the chances of them continuing to play that sport is very minimal. Some will say AAU is the only way to go, but I've seen it and honestly can say many of the players would benefit more from a structured city league. As for parents coaching teams that involve "cuts", for example 7th and 8th grade basketball, I'm completely against it.
  22. Oriental Wok is great! There's another up by Beechmont Ford call Rong Tan's. It's very good and has great service.
