  1. And,,,,,,,,,,,,the concession stand has never been the same!
  2. Yea right Jack! You'll be in your same seat as alway for every home game.
  3. LN, I couldn't agree more with your comment!
  4. Believe me, the 09 seniors have plenty of talent. There's two or 3 that will be able to carry the rock with success.
  5. And to think, they allowed both to eventually become Pres. and V.P./Legal Counsel of the league.
  6. Your right MC, the 79 Birds are my all time favorite as well. In my opinion they started the run of quality HHS teams through the 80's and into the 90's. Coach Shields did a great job with that team that year. But, I'd have to put the 81 SK team ahead of the 78 Holmes team just because they brought the trophy back to N. Ky.
  7. LN. I think he's referring to Nape........................:thumb:
  8. After having a full season starting on the OL and a State Championship under his belt, I look for Adam Dempsey to be the leader of the OL this season for the Birds. Along with him, Junior to be Hunter Schlosser will make for an extremely powerful side. I expect the competition for the OL will be very interesting in Birdland this spring and summer. Good Luck to all of you!
  9. So true. Quality is the key. It first can be measured in the administation, parents, coaches, kids and city residents that continue to support all the programs at each school. In my mind, nice new facilities are icing on the CAKE!
  10. You hit the nail on the head!:thumb: Most of us don't see the need to discourage any student/athletes. However, some don't realize the kids log on to this forum as much as the parents. Nothing could be worse for a student that's putting all his/her effort into trying to become a better athlete, than to have some armchair adult criticize his talent.
  11. My intention for this thread was to get an update on a potential project I had heard about. We all know the current condition of the facility is not the best. Does anyone know for sure if there's been a drop of paint put onto the walls? Or, if anythings planned in the near future?
  12. Some of these comments by HHS fans are what leads to bitterness between classes and parents. At the end of the day, all the classes make up the terrific programs we have at HHS. Don't add fuel to the fire. Shouldn't there be plenty of JV spots next year? With all the current Sophomore successes this season, I would expect plenty of roster spots at the JV level. If basketball is your thing, keep working hard and develop as players and athletes.
  13. Your correct Malachicrunch, it will be part of the last phase. It could be anywhere from 7-10 years out. That's according to the A.D.
  14. I haven't been in the gym for a few weeks. I heard some were spearheading a painting project for the gym and the lobby, similar to the one that was done in the fall to the outside of the gym. Did this get done? What's the status?

WOW! Great job guys. All 3 are big time schools. Good Luck on the field and in the classroom. What positions did these 3 play for the Purples?
  16. Hope you did a good job LN. I know a few others doing the same thing down there last night. Sounds like a good basketball game. Sorry I missed it.
  17. I agree Eta Rho. I didn't see anything negative posted by Birds fans about this game.
  18. I really enjoyed watching him on the sidelines with Eli and the coaches. You could tell he was offering insight, almost as if he was a coach. Maybe coaching is in his future (HHS)?:thumb: Congratulations Jared!
  19. LN, your right about the Red Dog Dougherty award. The coaches couldn't have picked a better recipient than Joe Fitzgerald. Joe along with his brother and parents are some of the finest people you'd ever want to meet. Not many know this, but Joe turned down a full academic schlorship to enlist in the U.S. Navy last week. He's following his dream. I for one feel very fortunate that a courageous, talented and intellegent young man will protecting our Country. Congratulations Joe! :thumb:
  20. There wasn't many like Coach Luecke. Fortunately I didn't have to go to the training room that often, but I always stopped by to get my dose of Coach Luecke before practice.
  21. I got it BirdsFan. The good old days.
  22. Any details or game stats?
  23. I know the coaching situation is being discussed on another thread, but can you give us an accurate update?
  24. I grew up with Tom and spent time in the Spritzky home. His parents and brothers are nothing but class. Very nice article.
