I haven't been in the gym for a few weeks. I heard some were spearheading a painting project for the gym and the lobby, similar to the one that was done in the fall to the outside of the gym. Did this get done? What's the status?

Obviously, you can see where Highlands basketball ranks in importance to Highlands football by looking at the condition of the gym and locker rooms. When we played there I was shocked by the poor condition of the gym.

 

The visiting girls team dressed and had halftime in what I understood to be th ISAP room.

It should get better. Someone correst if I'm off base, but I believe a new gym is part of the last phase of construction at Highlands. Anyone have a projected completion date?

Hopefully soon because it is not a very nice gym at all. It may have a lot of history but its time for a little updating.

Your correct Malachicrunch, it will be part of the last phase. It could be anywhere from 7-10 years out. That's according to the A.D.

I enjoy watching games at the ol' HHS gymnasium. I like intimate settings such as this and Holy Cross.

The gym is not "fan friendly" The benches are on the floor and it is impossible to walk behind them to find a seat. Also, it's almost impossible for senior citizens to get up in the bleachers. There gym is outdated and is one of the worst in the 9th Region.

You both make great points. It's going to be hard to replace that great energy that you can only get in that gym. It's probably my favorite place to see a game in the 9th Region. But, madman's facing some realities too and hopefully they can build a gym that serves the modern purpose and still have an atmosphere that can feel a little 'old school'.

Not sure why this is an issue now. HHS' gym has been the same forever, well except for the missing clock...

I know you've never picked up a paint brush in your life :D, but feel free to start in the stairway.

Obviously if it does not behoove football, your hands won't get dirty as I didn't see YOU with a paintbrush when we spruced up the exterior of the gym! NYAAAAH! LOL...and I reckon you forgot about our HS project in the park!
