Obviously if it does not behoove football, your hands won't get dirty as I didn't see YOU with a paintbrush when we spruced up the exterior of the gym! NYAAAAH! LOL...and I reckon you forgot about our HS project in the park!

I take back all my derogatory comments about your Mom hiring Klump to cut the grass, shovel the snow, etc. ect. Smaller than some middle schools, use some of the millions from the football field.

My intention for this thread was to get an update on a potential project I had heard about. We all know the current condition of the facility is not the best. Does anyone know for sure if there's been a drop of paint put onto the walls? Or, if anythings planned in the near future?

That IS the near future!....at least for basketball. Hopefully the "powers that be" will lean toward some type of multi-use facility...that could be used for dances so they do not have to go to Cincy, et al!! Also big enough to have more State Champion celebrations! :dancingpa

You can't inbound on the side where the benches are. Literally, the coaches are standing on the court to coach... I don't think that is very good. It needs some work to say the least...

I always liked whenever we played there, great atmosphere with the band playing up on the balcony behind the basket.

Does the band still go to games? I dont remember seeing or hearing them at the Holmes game. Well, dont really remember hearing much from the student body either. Seems 90% of the cheering comes from parents/family or just plain old adult fans.

 

I like old gyms as long as they aren't cracker boxes. I also think before they start painting the front corridor they need to get some black paint and make some makeshift steps on the bleachers just so we dont have to grab peoples' heads as we manuever up to find a seat. I must have messed up 3 sets of hair, knocked a pair of glasses off and almost fell on an elderly lady trying to get to a seat the other night.

Other than the Turf Field (Which is probably 4th/5th best now in No Ky), what HHS facilities are very impressive? None that I can think of...

Weight Room is out-dated and small

Locker Rooms are below average

Gym is horrible

Baseball/Softball fields used to bad (Don't know anymore)

Track is below average unless it has been resurfaced in the last couple of years...

 

My point is, for a school that has a winning tradition in most all sports, the facilities have not been upgraded much over time. Hopefully what we are hearing about expansion will correct some of these issues....
