  1. Good kid from a good family. Congrats Sam. The State just lost another good prospect. I had heard this was a possibility for Sam. Where is this confirmed. Can someone provide a link, I'd like to read more on this development.
  2. Courier Journal Newspaper, Sunday, December 16, 2007 edition, inside back page, lower left hand corner. Here is the Link to their web edition of the same: http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/...43/1002/SPORTS It only shows first team selections; not Honorable Mentions. I would think there is a complete list somewhere? I don't know how this is selection process is conducted, but there seems to be a lot of names missing from the list.

  4. Which ever venue is chosen, I think all three games need to be played the same day at the same nuetral site.
  5. What if you thru in Lex Catholic and Lex Christian and do a Kentucky High School Football Bermuda Triangle thing. Then rotate the game site between UofL PJCS, UK Commonwealth Stadium and Paul Brown Stadium. (Unless there is some other venue in NKY that would be comparable). Year 1 Trinity Vs. Highlands Cov Catholic Vs. Lex Christian Lex Catholic Vs. St. X Year 2 T Vs. Cov Catholic HHS Vs. Lex Catholic Lex Christian Vs. St. X Year 3 T Vs. Lex Christian Lex CatholicVs. Cov Catholic HHS Vs. St. X Year 4 T Vs. Lex Catholic HHS Vs. Lex Christian Cov Catholic Vs. St. X Then start all over again.
  6. You would probably have to wait until the '09 season. I think most schedules have been set for the first two years of 6A. I know St. X set a mirror schedule, home and home, in 2007 and 2008. as a part of that schedule, St X. and Cov Cath already play each other the last game of their seasons in '07 and '08.
  7. What about Cov Cath as your TBD? St. X played Cov Cath this year and they were very competitive in the first half. Also I know one of the senior parents from their team. They told me this was a down year for Cov. Cath. This tells me they must be pretty competitve most years.
  8. Were can you find the details of this game? What is it called? What is the selection process? Etc. Etc. Etc.
  9. I posted this in another thread and thought it applies here better: Thanks TD. I think this is a pretty good representation. I find it to be very interesting. (Assumption: The average ticket over the last 21 years is $6.50, and is for demonstration purposes only. It's not scientific or factual.) 1. In years when neither St. X nor Trinity played (4 yrs) - Average Attendance is 6,749 Translates to (6,749 * $6.50 = $43,869/yr) * 4 yrs = $175,474 2. In years when only one or the other played (13 yrs) - Average Attendance is 10,122 Translates to (10,122 * $6.50 = $65,793/yr) * 13 yrs = $855,309 3. In years when both St. X and Trinity played (4 yrs) - Average Attendance is 21,574 Translates to (21,574 * $6.50 = $140,231/yr) * 4 yrs = $561,924 KHSAA total take for the 21 years = $1,592,707 The KHSAA should take note that in years when St. X and Trinity are in the final game their attendance numbers and gate are off the chart by comparison to years when only one of the two are in there. When one compares it to years when neither one makes it to the State game; it gets worse. Taking this one step further: IF St. X and Trinity were on opposite sides of the bracket, allowing them the chance to play every year of the last 21 years and assuming only an 80% chance they were both good enough to make it there, which is 17 of the 21 years. Then the KHSAA would make (21,574 * 6.5 = $140,231) * 17 = $2,383,927 in years St. X plays Trinity, which doesn't include the other 4 years gate. Just these 17 years nets them almost $800,000 more. Add in the other 4 years and you get close to, if not over, $1.5M. I know it's not supposed to be all about the money, but these numbers are hard to ignore.

  11. Does anyone know if this game replaces the former Kentucky-Tennessee All Star Game of years past? If so, why is it not State wide?
  12. It will hurt attendance for two simple reasons: 1. Hotels 2. Restaurants
  13. It would be interesting to see the attendance numbers for the final game every year compared with who played in the game. Anyone care to take on this task? I for one would like to see if the attendance falls off when St. X and Trinity are not playing each other; versus only one of them; versus neither of them? Just curious.
  14. Wrong Forum! This is a Public Vs. Private Thread.
  15. :dancingpa WAY TO GO JACKETS! :dancingpa I new you could do it. :dancingpa STATE CHAMPS! :dancingpa How does that sound, guys? Got a nice ring to it, dosen't it? Congratulations Coach Scroggins. I bet those boys over at Doss are eatin' a little crow today too, now aren't they?

  17. Couple of points: 1. I agree that 0.6 doesn't make a difference. That means these two teams are VERY closely matched. But, no one (mostly players) pays attention to the 0.6 point difference. All they look at is who's No. 1 and who's No. 2. 2. JMHO, but this rivalry is so strong that both teams need all the extra motivation they can get to give them that extra edge to win. 3. Most knowledgeable folks on BGP don't put stock in any poll. Most of polls are based on opinion. And you what opinions are like? Everybody has one; and the all stink. Just like mine. 4. I agree, I think the Tigers are number one. However, I think the Tigers are Number one regardless of the outcome of this game. Obviously not everyone knows the Tigers are #1. Just take a look at the voting on this thread. There are 69 people who voted in favor of the Rocks. At the beginning of the week the voting was very loopsided towards St. X. All week long it has moved in the other direction. Now it's only 65% St. X and 35% Trinity. :thumb: GO TIGERS! :thumb:
  18. If that's the only factor, which I don't believe for a heart beat, than this will be a closer game than you're predicting ..... Louisville Central was one of the most disiplined teams I saw St. X play all year. :thumb: GO YELLOWJACKETS! :thumb:
  19. ...and the most resent Brohm ended up at St. X this year as the Freshman QB!    How did that happen? :ylsuper:
  20. With a son on the team, I already knew this was happening. But when I saw the story on the news last night and the interview with Ty Scroggins, I started cheering. He is a class act from start to finish. It's no wonder Coach Glaser works with him. I think it showed a lot of class on Coach Glasers part to ask them to come use the facility. It's great having another State Tital eligible team to pull for: :thumb: GO TIGERS! :thumb: :thumb: G O YELLOWJACKETS! :thumb:
