  1. Boy! Is it obvious the Tigers don't have a game this week or what? :irked: Come on PRP! Should we start a countdown to game time thread? :thumb:GO TIGERS!:thumb:
  2. Ox, I was re-calling from my old and feeble memory. :creepy: So one out a 13 ain't half bad.
  3. If we take this one step further and look at all three (3) levels of play since this current group of Seniors were Freshman, the current record between them stands at St. X - 10 and Trinity - 3 (with one of T's wins being a rain shortened victory): 2004 Freshman Game - X Won JV Game -------- T Won Varsity Game --- X Won Playoff Game --- No game between the two. 2005 Freshman Game - X Won JV Game -------- X Won Varsity Game --- X Won Playoff Game --- T Won 2006 Freshman Game - X Won JV Game -------- X Won Varsity Game --- T Won Playoff Game --- No game between the two. 2007 Freshman Game - X Won JV Game -------- X Won Varsity Game --- X Won Playoff Game --- Yet to be determined.
  4. I agree. I think Manual is to low and Male is way to high. JMHO.
  5. If I have the right kid, he is a stud athlete. (His initials are TA if any body knows for sure.) I've never seen him play football; but, if he's half as good at football as he is at baseball, then he's got to be good. I've seen him play baseball for many years. He came up through the Middletown Recreation Association Babe Ruth League and played a lot of AAU ball around Louisville. I also had the pleasure of watching him play in the district semi at Patterson Park on UofL's Campus last year as a Junior. He was their catcher. CAL surprised everybody in that tournament, including me. He's a good kid from a good family, I hope he personally has a great game. But, I gotta support my Catholic Brethren in this one. I'm pullin for DeSales. :thumb: GO COLTS! :thumb:
  6. I can see both happening. I think St. X will play their 1's and 2's early to help keep them sharp against an opposing team. Going against your own scout team in practice only does so much to teach core game skills. You need to face someone who is bringing their best game against you to make you feel pressure. This is important to keep players sharp. Once the game is well in hand St. X will drop back to their 3's and 4's for the balance of the game. These guys will get the majority of the in game PT. :thumb:GO TIGERS! :thumb:
  7. When this game ended Friday night, I was thinking the exact same thing. St. X saw this "Rope-A-Dope" philosophy employed 2 years ago in 2005. I, for one, don't think Beatty shows his complete hand in this game knowing that he will probably get another shot at St. X somewhere down the road. What St. X has to do now is NOT be complacent. They need to work hard at getting better between now and then. The good thing for St. X is that most of these Seniors still feel the sting of 2005 in their hearts. They were there as part of the team that went 14 and 1. I truly believe: They'll Be Ready! Great game on both sides. As our beloved Archbishop Kurtz said in his opening prayer, "May the best team win" and they did! :thumb:GO TIGERS! :thumb:
  8. It's not always a problem, but this is where sideline infractions come from. As an individual who has performed these game duties before, it can be frustrating when having the kids and coaches around you bumpin and grindin on you while you're trying to do your job. It doesn't matter if it's the Home side or the Visitor side, the problem is the same.
  9. Tigers win this one by as much as they want. Every player, except those with injuries, will play - A LOT!
  10. The good news is they are "STILL UNDEFEATED". Sorry, I couldn't resist. BU sells T-Shirts in the book store with Bellarmine Football on the front and that printed on the back.
  11. Maybe. But the Trinity "faithful" were lacking in attendance at both the JV game on Monday and the Freshman game last night, proving the need for a LARGER visitor section really does not exist. It holds 1000, probably more if everybody gets real cozy. In both games it wasn't even half full. Where were you guys? I hope you have a bigger showing tonight!!! Ya know, I guess I wouldn't have shown up either if I knew we were going to get beat that bad. j/k LOL!
  12. I beleive both schools have a webcast available from their respective websites. I know St. X does at http://www.saintx.com.
  13. This game is too close to call. Both teams match up very well. Are their Offenses different? Yes, obviously, St. X is predominently a run offense and Trinity is predominently a pass offense. The Defenses for both St. X and Trinity are strong and fast to the ball. This game will be a low scoring defensive battle that will come down to ball security. The team that makes the fewest turnovers, wins. The KHSAA scoreboard doesn't give points off turnovers nor fumble and fumble recoveries, that I could find. The only stat I could find indicated that St. X has 0 interceptions and Trinity has 3 as of September 21. From my old, feeble and yes Tiger biased memory, I recall not very many total turnovers in St. X's five games and several in Trinity's four games. IMHO, this gives the edge to St. X. B-Cat Prediction: St. X - 20 Trinity - 17 :thumb:GO TIGERS! :thumb:
  14. In actuality the "new kicker/punter" has not been the issue for this X special team. Wyatt Gray has done a fantastic job all season. He's been the punter since the start of the season. The real issue here is the long snapper. I could be wrong, but I believe X has used 3 different guys in five games at this position. If we get this issue resolved it's a different story.
  15. Your just jealous cause you guys didn't think of it first!
  16. Yes, but not with any consistancy. Only a play here or a play there.
  17. Even better. It'll be fun watching them play together next year.
  18. Ox, I heard the same thing that night at the game.
  19. TD, I was merely pointing out the flow of conversation in the thread that seemed to have gotten lost. I believe the premise of the conversation was that the 3 year ago Freshman group are now Seniors. And that the outcome of that game can be an indicator of what may happen come this Friday. Which, in my humble opinion, I, for one, am in complete agreement. In fact if you go back and re-read the previous St. X threads versus Lex Cath and Male, I drew the same conclusion and it proved to be 100% accurate.
  20. Riverside 157, Just a point of clarification - They're talking about the Freshman game three(3) years ago, when Stein was QB for the Pebbles and Zoeller was the QB for the Baby Bengals. Just for the record that game was at Trinity's new home field as well.
  21. That make two of us Diogenes. I didn't see any of the first half, I had some business to attend to and couldn't get there until half time. The X Defense looked good in the 3rd quarter; but the Offense couldn't get anything going in the second half. This caused the defense to be on the field a long time in the second half, leading to their exhaustion in the last several minutes of the game. Still, it was a good win for the JV. We'll take that! :thumb:GO TIGERS! :thumb:
  22. JMHO - But I don't think the final score was indicative of the actual game. If it wasn't for two playsthe score would have been 21 to 0, instead of 31 to 14. The first was when the Tiger defensive Blitzed Right and Smith slipped thru his right side off tackle, away from the Blitz, for a big gain to set up the Rams first TD. The second was the bad snap by X's long snapper. X gave Manual the ball on their own 1 yard line. That wasn't anything the Rams did themselves. That was a gift from the Tigers special teams. X won the game of field position right from the opening kick off. Again JMO Way to go Tigers! Way to get a big win on the road! On to the Rocks! :thumb: GO TIGERS! :thumb:
  23. Diogenes, My hope is that the Rams fans don't have to wait until next year! (i.e. When the Tigers come way victorious Friday night, they will have won the district and home field advantage this year)
