Pendleton has shown has glimpses of excellence, but do not know how to finish. If they can figure out how to finish they may pull out a victory, but it does not happen against Campbell Co.

If there was an incident created by the PC student body, I would hope this would be addressed by the administration.

From talking to a couple of players last summer there was a bad attitude among the players. With that poor attitude and many young players it lead to a losing record. I hope there will not just mental growth, but physical growth as well.

I know it is a pipe dream. Maybe the individuals who need to lose their certificates are administrators big and small for allowing this to happen in the first place and indirectly allowing this to go on and on.

Both team had runs throughout the game. Burgin had a 2 pt lead after the 1st quarter. Pendleton had a 1 pt lead at the half. Pendleton had a good 3rd quarter and had a 11 or 12 pt lead early in the 4th quarter, but with poor shooting and turnovers Burgin took the lead with about 20 seconds to go, PC missed a shot, fouled, Burgin hit 2 free throws to go up by 3. Pendleton had a last second 3 pointer to rim out to end the game. Pendleton needs to handle the ball better and improve their shot selection, they are too much in love with the 3-pointer.

For PC to get better they need to improve their passing, as the game progressed their passing progressed from bad to worse to horrible. They also need to work on cutting off the drive down the lane, work on blocking out and improve their shot selection. Hard to believe they had a 54-50 lead after 3 quarters to only blow up in the 4th quarter.

I ran across a dad whose daughter played with my daughter. He was one of those parents who is being discussed on this thread. He has a second daughter about 8 years younger than daughter #1. He said this time around he sits and enjoys watching the game, no acting as he once did. Some can change, even if it takes awhile.

First time I have seen the Monroe boy play. He hit several 3pointers and hit at least 6 free throws in the final 2 minutes. Lost track of the total number of 3 pointers PC hit, at least a dozen. Number 12 for PC has some quick hands.

No, he is retiring. This is his way of staying active after retirement.

Campbell County's Brianna Peters is playing at Wilmington College.

When Campbell Co. was at the building in Alexandria, now the middle school, the team practiced in the concession area in the basement. The wrestlers had to carry the mats across the gym floor, out the doors and down the steps to the concession area. Then reverse the process at the end pf practice. When the current facility, 4 miles south on US 27, was built a multi-purpose room was included, but its primary use is a practice facility for the wrestling team. Side note: the ceiling is not high enough for basketball.

They have had rather small squads the past few years, numbers would help.

The new coach will be introduced tomorrow, Tuesday the 26th.

Coach Cravens of Campbell Co. Lady Camels is planning to retire from teaching after this school year. He went ahead and resigned as coach to allow the search for a new coach to begin. Coach Cravens guided Campbell Co. for 14 years. In rebuilding the Lady Camels they did not make it to the region his first 2 years. Over the next 12 years the Lady Camels went to the region 10 times. They made it to the semi-finals 6 times and won the region once. He won at least 2 Coach of the Year Awards. Best of luck to Coach Cravens and to the Lady Camels and their new coach.

2 fouls on Campbell Co. came from great acting by Montgomery Co. 2 flops were bought by the refs as charging fouls. Montgomery must have a great acting class.

Lady Camels were up by 6 in the 3rd quarter and went 2-2:30 minutes without scoring and had a 1 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. Then at about 4:41 left in the 4th quarter the game was tied. Montgomery then pretty much won the game on free throws as Campbell missed shots or turned over the ball. Both teams had chances to take big leads in the game, but turnovers or missed shots kept the game close. Both teams played hard.

Could someone confirm that Ed Cravens of Campbell Co. and Scott True of George Rogers Clark have been named co-coaches of the year for the 10th Region?

This game was cancelled due to Deming going over their limit on games. So CCHS could have their senior night, they have picked up SCPA, Cincinnati, OH. CCHS is also having back the Regional Champs from 10 years ago. Being played 2-5-11.

From what I was told is that the Lady Camels lead at a couple of different points in the game, but Boone kept up the pressure. Moss had 13 points and played some really good defense.

Ladycat Megan Wood, class of '03, will have her number retired Friday night (1-28). The Ladycats play Harrison Co. at the Pendleton Co. gym nicknamed the Wood Shed, after her grandfather Phillip Wood. A fine young lady who went on to play at Thomas More and then come back to teach in the Pendleton Co. system.

I learned today that there could be 2 reasons why Campbell and Boone may have trouble rescheduling their game. Limited potential make up dates. But the real kicker is that Boone is in the LIT. Boone has used up their allotment of tournament appearances. In stead of the tournament counting as 1 game, each game would add to Boone's total of games allowed. If Boone wins a couple of games they would not be able to reschedule with the Camels. But that is a wait and see proposition.
