The varsity contest between the Rebels and Camels scheduled for 1-7 was postponed due to icy road conditions.

No word on when the contest will be rescheduled.

I am tired of you trashing Coach Cravens. He is a good man.

 

Coaching is tough enough without whiney so called fans. It is tough trying to make everyone happy, but it is worse with whiney fans.

I can recall some years back, Highlands won the state title, in footbaal, and still their fans were upset with the coach.

Try staying home.

Campbell Co. is 12-0 but to be the best you must beat the best.

The J.V. game was played, however, with Boone winning. Their J.V. team is 8-1 now, with their only loss to Notre Dame. This bodes well for Boone's varsity next year.

I believe Notre Dame's JV is undefeated. They have a win over Lakota East JV also. They are fun to watch and really get up and down the court.

Yes, that is Boone JV's only loss. Boone's JV has been overachieving this year, IMO. Did not expect them to win this many.

Agreed. These threads always seem to go in multiple directions.

The JV game was not a blow-out. I understand that it was a 5 or 6 point victory for Boone with Campbell down 2 with just over a minute to go in the game. I am sure Coach Cravens will try to reschedule the game if a date can be found that works for both teams.

Why did they cancel the varsity game if the teams were done there?

My understanding is that Boone's varsity was coming separately from the JV and Coach Fookes called and said that road conditions were bad and they could not get there. Campbell's varsity was there and ready to play.

AA & 27 going south were closed at one time last night, 275 at Dixie Highway was at a stand still. Only the JV team was there with Campbell County Varsity there. The roads were not the greatest getting to the high school last night. It took some people 2 1/2 hours to go from Wilder Town & Country to the Speedway on 27 close to the Meijers. It was a mess.

Thanks for the info. I just assumed if the JV game was played the varsity team was already there. It was a very bad night for traveling. I put in 45 minutes myself last night going 2 miles on I 75 in Florence ended up getting off and running back roads. Good deal all the teams last night made it home safe.

I learned today that there could be 2 reasons why Campbell and Boone may have trouble rescheduling their game. Limited potential make up dates. But the real kicker is that Boone is in the LIT. Boone has used up their allotment of tournament appearances. In stead of the tournament counting as 1 game, each game would add to Boone's total of games allowed. If Boone wins a couple of games they would not be able to reschedule with the Camels. But that is a wait and see proposition.

Wait a minute, this game was scheduled. So I guess Boone would have to cancel possibly more games. Bottom line Cravens will be happy, same reason he backed out of the NCC agreement.
