If you are wondering why and my memory is correct, when the MS was being built, somewhere around 1997, there was some money leftover in the money bugeted through bond sales in building the middle school. Enough that allowed them to use it to construct the football field on those grounds. My understanding was that it would have been several years before enough bond room would have materalized to build it at another location.

Actually, not Butler. That is farther north of the middle school where Northern Elementary is located.

I would venture to guess no change but more pressure on boosters to fundraise to cover the additional cost.

Lots of school districts are going to a 60 mile rule for all sports. I know my district has it and I have to be factor that in when scheduling. Is it important enough game to ask my boosters to pay $100-$200 or more to drive a bus there. Meaning you either CANNOT schedule a game beyond 60 miles or your boosters have to pay for each mile beyond the 60 miles. Not sure of the cost per mile but I believe it is over a dollar a mile.

Green County made it back-to-back state champs on the girls' side.

She is a good of a young lady as she is a golfer.

ON the girls side, Emma Talley continues to demonstrate why she is one of the tops in the WORLD. Since she was the leading point getter for the US JR Ryder Cup the days before the big people's Ryder Cup. Also, Megan Wilshire has to be the 2nd best junior golfer in the state. Won Ky Jr Amateur when Emma didn't play in it. Finished 2nd last year at state after Emma was DQ'd and the winner graduated. FInished 2nd this year to Emma.

Comments on your two statements here. First, people see the school district as a big pot of money that they can sue and get some sort of check from them. Parents are constantly threatening lawsuits because they think that 1) it will make the administration cave; 2) they can get some sort of check out of it via their child. Second, a NKY private school principal made a comment once that the difference between his school and our public school was he could write a check to reimburse the problem child's tuition and send them our way while we have no option but to deal with them. One of my favorite teachers of all time retired from public school and went to a private school. She had to write a discipline referral ONCE in the first two years she was there. BIG difference is the support that private school parents give to the schools where the public schools parents want to blame the teacher.

As a 100% outsider, I always saw this as one of the top rivalries in the state. But it seems to have become very lopsided in the past 5 years or so. Highlands by a lot.

You list Campbell as #3 but say you think Calvary will be the 3rd seed????

I must admit it is rudely enjoyable to see Louisvillians so up in arms over it.:D:D:D:banana::banana: It wouldn't bother me to see Highlands thrown in there with X and T and moved out of our proposed new district.

Pendleton County HAS to be in the top 10.

Great choice and hire. Looking for good things from the Wildcats with a good coach and some youngsters coming up that left the Pendleton recreational baseball league and have been playing in NKY for several years either, Knothole, Little League, Cal Ripken or a fall ball combination.

Some good candidates already on staff.

John High was pushed for strong last year and he wanted too much money to come out of retirement. He would have been a very interesting hire as he has had alot of success.

Lexington Christian got into trouble a few years back when a local church provided scholarships to some inner city youth to attend Lex Christian. To me, they should have kept on doing it as that is a great work of what Jesus' church should be doing.

Heard today from three very reliable sources that there is a head coach opening at Harrison County.

I think Ed Cravens is the senior head coach in the 10th Region.

As a fan of a competing school of CCHS, I LOVE that idea.

The tone of this thread is doing the kids of Campbell County no good. They read the comments on here and it is doing more harm than any good that can come out of an anonymous adult venting on an Internet forum.

My experience is that there are a bunch of kids who don't want to play and do not want to tell their parents that cause they don't feel their parents will accept their decision. So, they blame the coach.

Curious on whether the freshmen teams are made up of freshmen only, MS only, or freshmen/MS mix? Down our way and a little further south, freshmen teams are usually MSers.
