Newport 7th grade boys really hustled and played well to win the rubber match with Sharp. The 7th grade girls of SHarp fell well behind early in the game but come roaring back to win vs. Newport.

I disagree. We have a handful that are embarrassing but don't a couple bad apples spoil the whole basket of apples. On the roads issue, I hear our bus drivers have been driving their routes today to see where they can and cannot go. A few were stuck in turnarounds and will not be driving those roads tomorrow.

Pendleton County did this with the Dixie seniors last Friday night. Introduced and gave flowers to the Dixie seniors.

Goahead summed it up pretty well. There are several buses who have several turnarounds. My understanding is that we will be in school tomorrow on Snow Plan.

That was one of those great moments in sports when all of the players, coaches and refs were conspiring to get that young man a shot. One of the officials told the PC coach that the player who fouled the little brother saved him from a technical. Told him that if the kid had scored with a handful of seconds left, he was going to T up the Pendleton coach and get that kid an opportunity to hit some free throws. It was a great moment to see the joy on the little boy's face when he scored.

Is that view of the facts from the Mitchell's side? Is that view of the facts from Highlands' side? Is that view of the facts from KHSAA side? There are many views of the facts in this case.

I would fully expect Pendleton to play and I am personally planning. Yesterday when the call was made to not play, the roads were very bad. As it got into the evening, the road departments have done wonders to make things passable on the back roads that are in McKinneysburg and other parts of the county. As far as school tomorrow, it is not the roads that are the problem but rather turnarounds. Those long busses have to have a place to turnaround on those long, curvy, one lane, dead end roads we have. Thus, there is a designated spot at the end of such roads for the bus to turnaround. All that snow that has been pushed off the roads as you travel around today, now is sitting in the bus turnarounds. Buses cannot turn around in 2-3 feet of snow. The snow plan that allows the buses to not travel those roads might be our best option to be in school tomorrow.

I found it interesting that there are many posts on here that if you are not from Highlands or have the Highlands viewpoint than you don't know the facts. When they are making assumptions or don't know what was going on at the KHSAA offices and don't know the facts of what was going on there. But rather are making a lot of educated assumptions on what the KHSAA did. The same thing from their view that they are claiming others are doing who may know the facts from the KHSAA side. There are two different ways to "know the facts" and they don't lie solely on the Highlands side.

District 4 wil be starting their tournament Thursday night. Play in game that night. Semifinals on Friday night. Not sure what this does to the Finals and what was supposed to be the Final 4 of the League playings semifinals on Saturday.

It is. Some have not made it through the season, so the numbers are down to 10 or so, but the same core is there.

Out Pendleton way, I can't see us making it tonight. Roads still have places with 4-6 inches of snow. They are bad. And those are the main roads. Can't imagine what the backroads are like.

Two late season returns have really shaken up this region. Jewell Rogers at GRC makes them a team to be reckon with. Sanker's return to Brossart gives them reason to truly believe they can come out of their district as winners. Just think you win your district and you very easily could face one of the following as a district loser, GRC, Montgomery, Campbell, Scott, Brossart, Mason, St. Pat or Bracken. All in the top 8 of the last Cantrall power ratings.

Sanker's return makes this district much, much, much tighter.

Today's snow is going to play havoc on the tournament. And whomever decided it was good planning to have the last game time for Wednesday on a school night to START at 8:30 made a very poor decision.

With the rivalry that exists between Brossart and Campbell and even though Campbell has the better record this is an even game to me. Rivalry games are always closer than records indicate. That said, Brossart's chances will be helped if Sanker (is that her last name?) is back from her injury. Does anyone know if she will make it back by districts? She was a nice player and would give the Lady Stangs a boost at district time.

I posted it more for anyone reading your post. Your post talked about league records and didn't want it to mislead readers that league records determine seeding. I hazard a guess that if any of the 3 win out and they garner the #1 seed. I would say betting money should be on a tie either between 2 or 3 teams. They seem to be fairly evenly matched and whomever is hottest that night wins.

You were right that I know few facts of my own accord. Most of mine came from discussions with 94.

Which ruling did "Bill" rule on? Was it all of them? Was their multiple rulings?

You are assuming that 94 knows few facts about the situations. I know that assumption to be incorrect. I agree with you and guru on this move.

It would be very interesting to know what Highland's vote was on that KHSAA guideline and regulation that they said usurped state law when it concerned them. How ironic would it be that Highlands probably voted to put the guidelines and regulations in place AND THEN when it came to having them enforced on them, they decided the rules/guidelines that they might have helped put in place were wrong. Remember that this state athletic association's rules and regulations are determined by the membership themselves.

I think 94 Camel is meaning to take the punishment that the KHSAA dealt out rather than take it to court. I would assume that 94 would point out that taking them to court and getting them involved is exactly what 94 means by Highlands relying on their wealth and legal powers to not have to abide by the KHSAA rules and guidelines. I believe 94 is indicating that the prevailing belief is that Highlands because of their money and legal resources has a feeling that they are above having to follow the rules as they will continue to drag it out into court and other areas till they get what they want. Either a court ruling in their favor or the KHSAA saying no mas. This latest legal wrangling would seem to support that prevailing view and honestly is not shocking that they are pursuing it.
