I know it’s been five years since the KHSAA imposed sanctions on Highlands and football coach Dale Mueller for playing Covington Catholic transfer Mike Mitchell during the 2004 season, but the case, apparently, is still active.

 

The Fort Thomas Board of Education is asking the KHSAA to rescind its sanctions in the case, which included the forfeiture of 12 games, a $1,500 fine, three years probation and a two-scrimmage, two-game suspension of Mueller.

I agree.

 

By law, the KHSAA hs to abide by the court's ruling. I'd assume if they don't cooperate, it will be taken back to court.

 

Maybe one of the Ft. T posters can go further in depth on the situation?

I think you mean, follow the rules, obey a court order, and then get bullied by the KHSAA who thought themselves superior to all legal bodies in the land. Yes, you're right. A total joke.

You would disobey a court order in favor of a KHSAA ruling? Wow.

The KHSAA was ruled to have set their guidelines and regulations above the state's laws by refusing to accept the Campbell County Circuit Court's decision to let Mitchell play. Despite your preference for or against Highlands (as well as mine), there is no way that the state athletic association should have the power to stand above the law.

 

So, which body's rules do you want to place at the top of the pecking order, the KY State Legislature, or the KHSAA?
