District Tournaments were to begin this week, however the weather looks like it will delay the scheduled start on Tuesday.

If and when any decisions are made on the revised schedule, could those in the know please post any info. For those of us involved in getting volunteers lined up to work the games, the earlier we get the info the better.

As of right now, all games for the tournament have been pushed back one day. Times are still the same, just pushed back one day. We will have to see what happens tomorrow if there are school cancellations.

Out Pendleton way, I can't see us making it tonight.

Roads still have places with 4-6 inches of snow. They are bad. And those are the main roads.

Can't imagine what the backroads are like.

The sixth grade boy's and girl's tourney held at Newport Middle School from what my son said is also just pushed back one day being held today, Thursday and Friday with championship being at Holmes Saturday. Good luck to all the middle schoolers.

Summit View and Woodland play tonight, 8th grade boys.

Beechwood won the two 7th grade (4-5) games. Tough tasks tomorrow night.

It is. Some have not made it through the season, so the numbers are down to 10 or so, but the same core is there.

I dont think it is either one. Boys and girls at this age play multiple games in a day all the time.

 

In district 4, we are still waiting to hear if tonights 4 seed vs 5 seed games will be played. Pendleton is out of school again today and they would be participating in both the boys and girls games.

I would fully expect Pendleton to play and I am personally planning.

 

Yesterday when the call was made to not play, the roads were very bad.

 

As it got into the evening, the road departments have done wonders to make things passable on the back roads that are in McKinneysburg and other parts of the county.

 

As far as school tomorrow, it is not the roads that are the problem but rather turnarounds. Those long busses have to have a place to turnaround on those long, curvy, one lane, dead end roads we have.

 

Thus, there is a designated spot at the end of such roads for the bus to turnaround.

 

All that snow that has been pushed off the roads as you travel around today, now is sitting in the bus turnarounds. Buses cannot turn around in 2-3 feet of snow.

 

The snow plan that allows the buses to not travel those roads might be our best option to be in school tomorrow.
