In 8th grade boys --Campbell County defeats the Highlands Bluebirds by 3.

 

In 6th grade boys --Holmes defeats Highlands at the buzzer.

So the final 4 for each is the following:

 

6th grade boys;

Holmes v Blessed Sacrament

Ockerman v Turkeyfoot

 

7th grade boys:

Holmes v Tichenor

Ockerman v Turkeyfoot

 

8th grade boys:

Conner v Campbell Co

Gray v Turkeyfoot

I cant believe the 8th grade Birds lost to CC, that is very surprising. The 7th grade Birds simply dont have the bigs this year but they have some kids that can shoot the rock and play. The 6th Grade Birds losing at the buzzer has to be a heartbreaker for those boys. They had a great season as well.

 

Overall the Highlands program looks on the up and up.

Any updates on the Holmes v. Tichenor game?

Holmes 7th grade beat Tichenor bad and Ockerman beat Turkeyfoot 42- 29. Game was very close in the first half.

7th grade boys final four is set.

 

Holmes will face Tichenor and Turkeyfoot will take on Ockerman.

 

Holmes just completed a victory over Highlands. They only played 6 players in an up and down the floor style game. If they have the energy they should be able to get by Tichenor.

 

Ockerman has had a phenominal season. They were advertised as the best team in preseason and have lived up to the hype. The Turkeyfoot squad is very talented. In the end I think Ockerman will have their way and meet in the Bulldogs in the finals.

 

 

 

Holmes vs. Ockerman in the 7th grade boys final. Stanley will be the best overall player on the floor. The bigs of Holmes (Covington and Potter) are tough to handle. Which teams set of guards handle the other teams pressure the best will determine the winner.

 

Hard to pick against Ockerman. They play under control, well coached, and skilled. Look for a score in the 50's with the style of play of the two teams.

Why? They only beat CC by 1 at Highlands just last week and that's only after Highlands battled back from 7 down to hit a three with only 30 or 40 seconds left. Sounds to me like they were pretty even teams.

So Stanley is playing. Why is it I thought he wasn't playing?

There was some talk of a discipline issue earlier this season. It must be resolved. Saw him in action this afternoon.

Stanley had a minor issue at school a few weeks ago but did not miss any basketball as a result of it. Nothing major, just normal 7th grade kid stuff.

7th Grade Girls Final tomorrow: IHM versus Twenhofel. IHM advances by a convincing win against Highlands and Twenhofel comes out in a thriller against Camp Ernst. Should be a good one at Scott at 3:30. Twenhofel led by Robinson, Smith, Figgins, Blau and Schmiade.

I heard that IHM was up by 30 with less than 3 minutes to play in the game against HMS and was still pressing, Classy. Would like to see Twenhofel pull this game out as I know that these are good kids and good basketball players.
