7th Grade Girls at Twenhofel:

 

In games yesterday, Twenhofel beat Beechwood and Turkey Foot beat Woodland. Turkey Foot and Twenhofel play tonight at 5:00. The two teams split on the year. The loss to the Foot was Twenhofel's only loss on the season so it should be a good game. The Indians looked very strong yesterday dominating Woodland after Woodland swept them during the year.

 

This is an awesome tournament for the youngsters and gives a good look at the future of high school hoops. The future looks bright for SK with the talent at Twenhofel.

So Conner will be Lexington in tonight?

 

Looks like Conner will have a team there, but they will be splitting their squad and sending half of their team to Lexington. The other half will stay in NKY and play tonight in their District Championship. Good Luck to all of the teams participating in this year's 8th Grade MS State Tournament.

Boys : Holmes vs. Highlands

7th grade boys tomorrow afternoon at Summitview

 

3 pm Tichenor vs winner Highlands/Holmes

 

followed by

 

Turkeyfoot vs. Ockerman

 

 

 

Highlands (19-5) vs. Holmes (25-2) game is set to tip at 11:15 am.

On the 8th grade boys side, Turkeyfoot beat Twenhofel for the fourth time this season! :dancingpa

 

They advance to the semi-finals tomorrow night at 6:30 at Campbell county middle school. They will face either Gray or Ockerman.

In 7th grade action Ockerman beat Grant County by 17.

 

In 7th grade girls Camp Ernst (behind the strong play of Macy Ford) handled Gray.

 

Ockerman 7th boys defeated Gray 7th boys.

 

Camp Ernst 7th girls defeated Grant County 7th girls.

 

In both games, the #1 seeds Ockerman boys and Camp Ernst girls came out very strong but both allowed the other teams to get back in the game late.

 

However, in the Ockerman boys game, this was short lived as they put on some pressure, Gray couldn't handle it and the game was never in question after that. I think it was a 7 point game going into the 4th. Ockerman was just too much for Gray once they put the full court pressure on in the 4th.

 

The Grant County girls I think pulled within single digits early in the 4th, but just couldn't hang with the Camp Ernst girls.

 

I was very impressed with the talent on both the 7th grade winners advancing out of the 1st district. I think they will both contend for the championship in the regional finals.

6th grade boys - Ockerman beat Gray - semi-finals at Connor

 

8th grade girls - Gray beat Camp Ernst in a close one, semi's @ Gray.

 

8th grade boys - Gray beat Ockerman in VERY close one, semi's @ Campbell MS

 

All dist #1 semi finals today at 4 or 4:15 at the respective schools.

7th grade boys final four is set.

 

Holmes will face Tichenor and Turkeyfoot will take on Ockerman.

 

Holmes just completed a victory over Highlands. They only played 6 players in an up and down the floor style game. If they have the energy they should be able to get by Tichenor.

 

Ockerman has had a phenominal season. They were advertised as the best team in preseason and have lived up to the hype. The Turkeyfoot squad is very talented. In the end I think Ockerman will have their way and meet in the Bulldogs in the finals.
