Exactly correct. If you do split sessions and start at 8:15, Campbell County would not get home till after midnight. All juniors in state were scheduled to take ACT Tuesday per state testing guidelines. Meaning they have to get up early next morning to get to their chosen testing location. The results are a MAJOR part of how high schools are graded. You dont want your juniors operating on 3-4 hours of sleep while taking such an important test.

Not to be flippant but that is the way coaches association of each set it up. Girls started theirs about 10 years ago and was set up for 3 teams of top 15 vote getters. Only varsity coaches vote and coach cannot vote for own players.

Btw, ironically Mason Co had no noticeable student section in their game. I have to say I was very surprised.

Mason Co was asked to move their student section from behind the home team bench. Said they were not asking their fans to move from where they sit all season. Said the other schiol could give up being the home team if Mason County student section behind home team was a problem. What it might lead to is Fieldhouse LOSING hosting the ttourney when 38th District's turn to choose venue comes up again. There are at least 3 other options.

Josh Feldmann of Brossart won 10th Region Coaches Association COY as voted on by 10th Region Varsity Coaches. Scott Collins of Pendleton County won the KABC COY as voted on by 10thRegion members of the KABC.

The 10th Region coaches association does not chose a player of the year. The listing of the first team all region is listed in random ordet NOT by votes received. KABC award winners is won by top SENIOR player. Do not know of any POY for 10th Region girls basketball that includes all grade levels.

Bluegrass officials who do 10th and 11th Regions do NOT allow assistant coaches up and yelling at officials. They will talk and listen to head coaches. They will not tolerate the assistants doing that. Have no clue what was said but assistant was up and something was being said to official. The BBA from top down does not tolerate it. I know that personally.

Let's look at the record and your ill-advised and ill-informed comments about it. Plays 4 District opponents of which he has already played 3, Silver Grove, Brossart and Calvary Christian. Scott looming. The district seeds so they are required to play each. I guess you can't have any problems with these games since Coach Cravens is REQUIRED to play them. Played in two tournaments in which he got to play in 3 and 4 games while only having to count it as 1-2 games because of the KHSAA rules. Surely, you don't have any problems in this regards. Has played two region opponents, Mason County and Montgomery County (who by the way the 10th Region coaches vote as the #3 team in the region) both of whom they could face in the regional tournament. They have Harrison, Bracken, St. Patrick (just won the regional Class A title) and Bourbon on the schedule. ALL teams they could face in the regional tournament. Pendleton was on the scheduled but snowed out. Surely you don't have a problem with Coach Cravens wanting to play and have experience against the very teams that he may have to play in the regional tournament do you? I mean the point of this season is to try and win the 10th Region tournament and make it to the state tournament, correct? So, you would expect him to do his best in preparing his team for that, right? Then they have the REQUIRED NKAC (whatever the acrononym is) and have played Holmes with the rest of that schedule looming. Notre Dame, Conner, Cooper, Simon Kenton, Dixie, and Ryle. Boone County was cancelled because of ice when the Boone County coach was the one NOT able to make it to the gym. Surely you do know that the schedules are determined by others and whom they play and when is set by someone else and a REQUIREMENT for Coach Cravens. So, that leaves what for you to complain about regarding the schedule. Let's see. ONE GAME!!!!!! There do your complaining about ONE GAME vs. Bellevue. ONE GAME, that is what your complaints are reduced to. ONE GAME!!!!! With the REQUIRED games in the NKAC. With the REQUIRED district games. With the intelligent and savvy move to schedule 10th Region opponents that he will mostly have to face in the 10th Region It seems Coach Cravens does a pretty good job in scheduling. O by the way, guess which team that you love to complain about is ranked #2 in the 10th REgion coaches poll. Meaning the other coaches in the 10th Region have enough respect for Coach Cravens and his team to rank them #2 in the 10th Region.

Campbell, Scott, Bishop Brossart, Calvary Christian and Silver Grove. 5-team district. Teams are allowed somewhere around 24 games in a season. You are asking them to commit 1/3 of their season to playing only the teams in their district. That very well may mean they are either a) removed from the NKY league as they would not have enough games to play in it; b) not play teams in their region because they are committed to the NKY league and the district; c) not able to play in downstate tournaments that provide valuable exposure for the team and players because of the commitment to the district seeding games.

I thought you wanted #1 and #2 teams to play in the finals. For the region, the #1 and #2 teams might very well come from the same district.

Good synopsis except that didn't Sticklen from Bracken start last year? Also, Brossart is a typical Brossart team that is going to work hard and if you don't match their work ethic, you will get beat.

So, the district should be played different than the Greatest Show on the Court?

Neither the region nor the state tournament is seeding. The district tournament should follow a similar setup, as it does, as the region and state tournaments.

$$$$$$ 10th region is GUARANTEED $5,000 if you make the region. I do not believe they share with teams that do not make the region. Till the money from the regional tournament is shared with all teams in the district, seeding should not be mandated.
