Grooms Resigns At Bishop Brossart

Featured Replies

Bishop Brossart High School announced today that Girls Head Basketball Coach Josh Grooms had officially resigned because of increased duties at Grant County High School where he teaches. The school has begun a search immediately and has named JV Coach Terry Bray as the interim head coach during the transition to the new coach. Those interested are asked to send their resumes to Athletic Director Mel Webster at [email protected]. A select committee will review the applications and recommend a successor. Grooms was Head Coach at BBHS for one season posting a 14-11 record. The school hopes to name a successor in the next few weeks.

Best of luck to Josh Grooms!

He had the best interests of our team and players at heart.

Will Bray get a look.

And he won a district championship.

He will take over as the girl's JV coach at Grant County.

Bray is the head girls soccer coach.

Terry enjoyed his tenure as the Brossart JV basketball coach last year and may be willing to remain in a similar capacity.

I don't think he would want to be the top coach in both basketballl and girls soccer.

Good luck to Coach Grooms. :thumb:

Whomever Brossart picks - they are stepping into a good spot. That incoming Freshman class is loaded with talent. Will be interesting on who will be picked. If Brossart could find room for her in classroom if Christie Macdonald would consider getting back into coaching at Varsity level. But doubt she would teach at NC and coach at Brossart. And Dawn transitioned successfully from boys to girls basketball - Could Scott Code do same? Would he even consider a jump like that - probably not, but you never know.....

If there's any chance Brossart could get Scott Code to consider taking over the girls program that would be great for them. Your right from what I hear they have alot of talent coming in next years freshman class. I would think they could land somebody pretty good.

Bishop Brossart had received about 14 resumes and applications in the first 24 hours.

Must have been a reason though NCc replaced MacDonald with Dawn and then two years later Dawn wins a state championship.

What about St.Patrick's Elaine Douglas? Is it possible she would leave St.Pats?

If you look at your statement you have something, but not what you think. Did you ever think that the players that Coach Dawn won the All A State with may have come in under Coach McDonald??? While I feel both are very good coaches, I think if Coach McDonald had the chance with that group that she would be very capable of getting the same results. Brossart would be getting a very good coach if Coach McDonald would want or be offered the position. As for Coach Dawn, his results speak for themself, so instead of throwing stones lets admit that both are very good coaches.

I thought Christie stepped down on her own because she got tired of the parents and the politics. Plus she has several children of her own to watch play.

You are exactly right in what you have said from what I understand. Plus 242 is also right on in that she most likely would have won the All A state also. She took 3 or 4 teams to the finals but ran into teams with big time talent, and I don't think those kind of teams were there this year. This is in no way to disparage the state title, as it was great to see a team from NKY win it. Hopefully there will be more to come. But as was mentioned, lets stay positive and just agree both McDonald and Dawn are excellen coaches.

I would be surprised to see her leave her teaching post at NCC to take any job right now, however.
