Interviews are this week.

Why would you want to make the number of applicants public?? This late in the game how many are qualified applicants?? Who would know the number of applicants other than the search committee and AD??

My reason for this is because, the same statement was made last year reagarding the number of applicants and they ended up with someone with little to no varsity expereince. So, even though there may be good number of applicants it does not always mean that quanity will produce quality.

It is meant to show that the job is a worthwhile one.

I don't believe there was a formal announcement of how many applicants they received. As for last year I heard they were waiting for one holdout to make a decision and that person got a job they desired more ($$$). Heard the pool of applicants is rather strong this year. I just think, as for any school looking for a coach, you need to hire ASAP. Haven't open gyms and summer camps started?

John High was pushed for strong last year and he wanted too much money to come out of retirement.

He would have been a very interesting hire as he has had alot of success.

The pay at a small private school is always an issue. It seems to work out best when you get one from within that bleeds the school colors. Refer to the NCC football coaches selection.

Or someone who knows that coaching high school sports won't make them rich and it isn't about the money.

Who was the boys coach that used to be there that retired? Willie Starman? Maybe he would come back

Starman is done for a while. Maybe one of his assistants would be the right man for the job?
