Calvary Head Coaching Position
cougarbball4and11 replied to CCSCougar's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The number of students at Calvary have dropped since the days of Nick Benge and John VanDerMeer. From what I have been told enrollment is picking up, so maybe the new coaches will have a little more to work with. -
Calvary Head Coaching Position
cougarbball4and11 replied to CCSCougar's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The position has been filled. A new AD is in place and has brought a new coach with him. -
We ate there on Wednesday night for the soft opening. The inside is very nice, with lots of big screen TVs. All the food we tried was very good. If you are in that area, you should stop in and give it a try.

They have to play the # 8 team in the nation tonight. If they can win, they will face the #2 team in the nation tomorrow night. They are expecting a sellout tonight, so get there early if you don't have tickets already. -

They actually have a great coach! This is only his second year, so I would look for them to keep improving throughout the year. I think they will be very dangerous come 10th Region tournament time. -

In the past, there has been the option not to play the district games and take the last place seed in the district tournament. I am not sure if that has changed in recent years. -
She is no longer listed on the roster, on the TMC website.

I am told he is still taking classes at Thomas More. Not sure if he is still playing basketball.

Thomas More scrimmages Division II Ohio Dominican tonight at Thomas More. This will be a return to Northern Kentucky for Sarah Futscher from Brossart, who plays at Ohio Dominican.

Sorry, I don't know anything about them. They do have a few scrimmages coming up next week, so I think we will find out.
-
They also have a JR (Sam Cady) and a SO (Kaylee Bush), that transferred in this year.

Jenny decided she did not want to play basketball her senior year. She is still at the school, but is not playing. Thomas More is ranked #3 in the nation in the coaches pre season poll.

Loaded with talent is an overstatement. They really had one player who played basketball year round and basketball was her main sport. Some other good athletes who played soccer as their main sport. Great group of kids, but they were not as committed to basketball as some other teams were in the off season. I dont think you can fault the coach for that.
