  7. Campbell County had a great year but they will miss Orick and Fornash two good players. Although the Lady Stangs lost some great players they will simpily be reloading as in past years with some great young talent. They have proven that by winning the District six straight years and ten of the last eleven. And thanks for thinking of us in a thread that doesnt even include our little school :idunno:
  8. The bad thing about Rosemary was she would taunt you all the time yelling "Come on a my house"
  9. We always say "The regular season is practice for the post season'" That was true again tonight as the Lady 'Stangs knocked off rival Campbell County 3-1 in the 37th District Championship at Scott. Campbell had eaarlier this season ended Brossart's 10 year win streak with a 2-1 home win. Tonight it was a great pitchers duel with Brossart's Megan Seiter outdueling her counterpart Ashley Leicht scattering 5 hits over 7 innings. Brossart bombed Scott last night 16-0 in three innings. Brossart won their 6th Straight District Championship and their 10th in the last 11 years. Their lone upset was Scott in 2010 1-0 at Scott. Brossart jumped on top 1-0 in the top of the fifth when Riley Orth led off with a single and promptly stole second easily. Amanada Graus followed line a hard single to center and it was 1-0. The Lady 'Stangs added two more in the 6th when Amanda Lloyd drilled a Leicht pitch deep over the left field fence to make it 2-0. Ashley Childress reached on an error and Megan Seiter helped her own cause with a shot to center. Moments later her twin sister pinch hitting Maria drilled a single past the diving Danielle Orick to put her team up 3-0. In the fifth Brossart ended a Campbell rally with a great throw with two out nailing a potential run at third. Campbell scored a run in the sixth as Orick walked was advanced to second and scored as a ball hit by Heather Terhaar skipped by third baseman Liz Martin. That made it 3-1. In the seventh with a runner on and two out Kenley Miller grounded to Kaitlyn Seiter who tossed to the covering Ashley Childress at first for the final out. Brossart (17-12) and Campbell Co, (19-6) advance to the 10th region at Harrison County. In the end Brossart like the Rite of Spring is District Champs again.
  10. Yes it was awesome. She ended up making all three outs of the inning to preserve the 3-1 win.
  11. Marty Brennaman might call it a good ole good ole one or perhaps a titantic struggle but Bishop Brossart traveled to Notre Dame today and outlasted the Pandas on their home field for a 3-1 win. The Pandas outhit the 10th Region All A Champions 8-5 but solid pitching by Megan Seiter who picked up her tenth win and stellar defense kept Brossart in the game. Both teams put the ball in play and both stranded 10 base runners. Brossart scored first in the third when Amanda Graus walked, moved to second on a nice sacrifice by Riley Orth. Following a strikeout Ashley Childress lined a shot up the middle to plate Graus. Make it 1-0. Brossart led 1-0 til the sixth when Cori Ladanyi opened with a double to left and with two outs scored when Rachel Franzen recorded her third hit of the game. In the seventh Graus opened with a shot over the thirdbase bag. Again Orth sacrificed her to second. Amanda Lloyd then hit a grounder in the hole at short and legged out an infield single. Courtesy runner Alana Nienaber promptly stole second to give Brossart runners on second and third with one out. Following a nice catch on a pop fly by catcher Kennedy Baugh, Kaitlyn Seiter stepped to the plate and punched a ball to center that just eluded a nice effort by Notre Dame centerfielder Alecia Radford to drive in both runners and make it 3-1 Lady 'Stangs. The Pandas didnt go quietly. They had the top of the order up and Katelyn Baker reached on an error. Alecia Redford then hit a shot up the middle that Brossart's Ashley Childress made a nice diving stop of and flipped it to Graus for a force at second. They retired Kennedy Baugh on a pop to second for out two. Cori Ladanyi then reached on an infield fly that was dropped to keep it alive. Up came Rylee Stephenson who grounded to Childress for the final out and a 3-1 Brossart win. Brossart improves to 10-5 while Notre Dame falls to 9-3.
  12. I Think my Radar gun might break if we put it on Lawnboy and Tom Baynum returning to the buffet at Moonlight Bar B Q. Baynum was clocked at 59 mph last year but it slowed to 47 after three trips. Both pitchers were hitting 50 consistently but when it counted Miss Meyers reached back and touched 55 highest Ive seen this year. Good luck to the Breds except when we play :thumb:
  13. What makes Bingaman and Lyon so good. Is she a hard thrower?
  14. Back to Back Region Titles A little history was made forboth Bishop Brossart and Calvary Christian fast pitch teams today inthe 10th region Touchstone Energy All A Classic inNicholas County. They also had lost to Bourbon only 1-0 in the last inning. Brossart jumped out to a quick2-0 lead on key two out rbi hits by Ashley Childress and KaitlynSeiter. They added three more in the second when Amanda Graushammered a pitch into the left field corner for a two run triple. Paris came back with two to cutit to 5-2 before a big 4 run third. When Amanda Lloyd lined a two outsingle to drive home two Brossart led 9-2. Paris added one to make it9-3. In the seventh an Ashley Childress triple plated one and KaitlynSeiter drilled a single to make it 11-3. Megan Seiter won her sixth gamethrowing three hit ball for 7 innings allowing no walks and strikingout 9. Seven different Lady 'Stangs hadtwo hits to power the 16 hit attack. In the Championship game Seiterpitched another gem allowing only three hits while striking outanother 9 batters. Graus, playing on a sprainedankle, was the catalyst scoring three times, walking twice, stealingtwo bases and being hit with a pitch. Riley Orth, Amanda Lloyd, andAshley Childress all had two hits while Lloyd Childress and KaitlynSeiter all had two rbis. Brossart scored two in thefirst without a hit with Graus and Orth both taking home on a stealwhen the catcher threw to second. They added six in the second andthe final run in the third in the 9-0 win. In the second the key hitswere a two run single by Childress and a two run triple by KaitlynSeiter. 15. Seen her twice and she has pitched well. No criticism just trying to say when you face different speeds of pitching and you are a good hitting team it can mess you up. A change of 10-15 MPH or so is huge ...again it is what it is thats what the gun said. I had Highlands pitcher at 49-52 that day. A lot also depends on location, movement and control
