On paper it appeared to be a good NKAC Matchup between the 18-5 Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart and 17-7 Newport. However both the varsity and jv games were all Bishop Brossart as they rolled 69-42 Varsity and 43-18 JV. In the varsity game BBHS jumped out to a 42-16 halftime advantage and eventual led by as many as 36 at 65-29. They shot 50.1% and held a 40-24 rebounding edge. Morgan Verst (15), Sarah Futscher (12) and Abby King (12) led all scorers. In the junior varsity game Rachel Young led BBHS with 14 in the win.

The 15-1 Bishop Brossart Lady 'Stangs will take on Morgan County in the opening round of the Touchstone Energy All A State Championship Wednesday at 8 PM in Frankfort. Morgan County is 9-7 after beating West Carter 38-34 in finals. They have scored 807 points this year while allowing 857. The Lady 'Stangs are 15-1 now and have outscored opponents 866 to 588.

Please note that the Diocese of Covington has decided to extend the "Dead Period" for all Diocean Schools starting next summer. This is being done in an effort to provide more time for families and to ease some pressure off student/athletes. The Dead Period will now be June 23 thru July 13
