  1. Hummm, according to the KHSAA Riherds Scoreboard, Brossart lost two games in the tournament. Is that correct? I guess BigGreenHorse just wanted to post the only game they won and "forgot" about the two games they lost. Apr 25, 14 East Carter at Powell County 0 - 1 (L) Powell County Classic Apr 26, 14 Powell County away 12 - 2 (W) Powell County Classic Apr 26, 14 Menifee County at Powell County 0 - 1 (L) Powell County Classic
  2. Congrats NCC. Certainly showed Butler and everyone else that you were a state contender. Would have liked to have seen how far they would have gone if they had beaten Butler but still absolutely nothing to hang your head about.
  3. It actually has been at the Frankfort Convention Center and EKU before but I would not expect it to return any time soon unless someone forks up sponsoring $ to the KHSAA. The KHSAA doesn't care how far it is for fans to drive, they are solely motivated by the almighty dollar and as long as no other sponsor can beat Houchen's "donation" to the KHSAA, don't expect it to move any time soon. Sad, but absolutely true. :isurrender:
  4. Coach Mason is nothing but a class act who always gets the most out of her players. Wondering if this is her first trip to the Sweet 16. I know she won the All 'A' in 2000 and coached a little at Boyle Co., but not sure if she made it to the Big Dance. Anyone know? Just glad to see a good coach get rewarded for all her hard work.
  5. That Danville team was just a scrappy team that outplayed both Brossart and NCC. My thinking was the coach at Danville was just a better coach than the other two, having had loads of success throughout her career. Regardless, Brossart went 6-6 after the All 'A' and never seemed to regain its fire. How much is Coach Feldman's doing? Well, the team normally follows the route of the coach. You must admit this team never reached its potential with the talent it had. Is four years enough time to prove that you can win the big games? I can't answer that but he has been given quite a few opportunities that he has not cashed in on. Of the fours years, what would be considered a signature win for the program?
  6. In all honesty, Coach Feldman has not won when it really counted. He got beat in the All 'A' Regional his first year by a much weaker St. Patrick team and then preceded to lose big time to NCC the next two years in the All 'A' State tournament and then lost to a much smaller and less talented team in Danville this year in the All 'A'. And I believe in the four years at Brossart, this was the only year he won the district and then with a ton of talent, lost to Mason Co. in the first round of the regional. He may have won a bunch of regular season games but the games that really counted he was woefully short on. This team of seniors never experienced the success that they were touted to have way back when they were freshmen. In my opinion, Coach Feldman never reached the pinnacle of what I would consider coaching respect and success. But thinking the AD at Brossart will keep him because he's afraid of not being able to find anyone who might be a quality coach to replace him. Maybe its the AD that should go with the coach!
  7. Have to agree with Norman on this one. Just because basketball doesn't have classes doesn't take away from this tournament. I believe every state except for Kentucky and Hawaii have classes in basketball. Even though the KHSAA doesn't recognize it as a State Championship, it is likely the only time that most small schools get a chance to play in a state tournament atmosphere. And on the bright side, the All 'A' takes much much better care financially for the teams in this tournament than the KHSAA. You actually LOSE $ when you go to the Sweet 16. The All 'A' assures you don't have to spend a dime if you spend within the reasonable limits they give you. I am a high proponent of this CLASSIC tournament. And congrats to all 16 squads that made it to the tournament this year.
  8. Is this a first for Cooper --- beating Boone Co.? And will this be Coach Fookes last year coaching? I heard she's not teaching any more but just wondering. I don't see her giving up coaching all together - it's her whole life, but maybe she would want to move on as an assistant coach for a college somewhere. The only difficult thing is I don't know that being an assistant would be very easy for her because she always feels like she has to be in control. Just saying.
  9. Coach Fookes will certainly do that to a player. They would much rather pass the ball than shoot it so they don't get yanked by the coach. And thinking those on the bench are not overly thrilled to have to fill in for someone who just got pulled for making a mistake. But, that Coach Fookes signature and whether you agree with it or not, it has caused her to ring up a bunch of wins. But could this be the year where Boone Co. doesn't even make it to the regional tournament?
  10. Oh this scenario has been played over and over again at other schools too. It comes down to parents knowing they have the power to make the decision what kind of coach should be in the program. All it takes is just a few bad apples - I have seen it happen to so many GOOD coaches. They give their heart and soul (along with all their time) and get slammed by the administration because they have no guts to step forward and tell the parents - "I will not be bullied by you." And the AD (I don't know this one) is normally a wet noodle who is scared for his/her job so just falls in line with the administration. I have a lot of sympathy for Coach because all he did was care about the girls players and wanting them to achieve their dreams. BEWARE COACHES - if you really want to Coach, don't go to Campbell County. Not that some of the other schools are any better, but this one leaves a very sour taste in a lot of mouths. I expect to see this thing happen again and again until someone steps up to the plate and tells those parents - "You're OUT!"
  11. So are you saying that there is a connection between the string of 8 straight losses and no reporting from BGH? Since he normally only posts scores when Brossart wins, you might have to just wait awhile until they get a win. It has to be killing BGH not to be writing his 15 paragraph summary when they beat someone. I hope Brossart does win one soon so we can get a report.
  12. Congratulations to the Lady Indians but also to the Bishop Brossart Lady Stangs. Both quality teams but Montgomery just a bit more talented on this night. Since we most likely will not hear from BGH after this one, I would just like to congratulate the Lady Stangs on a great season. They have a bright future ahead and would expect them to make another good run next season. And as far as BGH goes, can't wait for the wins from the Brossart softball team but missing reports when they lose. Oh yeah, and the inflated stats too!
  13. Congratulations to the Lady Stangs in their win over Pendleton Co. , especially since their leading scorer Sarah Futscher was out because of sickness. Sloppy game but the Lady Stangs did enough to put the game away. Not much else to report but I'm thinking BGH will have a 15 page synopsis, play by play, and some sort of analogy to a movie before all is said and done. He just can't help himself. Seeing that we got nothing from him when the Lady Stangs lost to Campbell Co. in the district finals, this report should be extra long and detailed. We will await that summary with baited breath! But, a big congratulations to the Lady Stangs for pulling it all together to move on to the semi-finals. With Futscher back and healthy, they should give Montgomery Co. a run for their money. Don't want to report much more or I might sound like somebody else. :sssh:
  14. I am with you Porky. How a proposed professional administrator can post things like he does on here and is not reprimanded by the principal constantly amazes me. All he does is makes Brossart look as unprofessional as the BGH. On top of that, BGH picks and chooses when he wants to post things, somehow forgetting to post about the losses that occur. Such a shame that Brossart is represented on here by such an unprofessional person. I would think that if you were an administrator of any school, that you should refrain from posting anything on these sites. But then, we have come to expect this kind of behavior from BGH and he somehow justifies it to himself. And as far as softball goes, we all are well aware of the fictitious stats that he list on here. It's almost comical but rather sad that he actually believes that people are so gullible to think the stats he list are even close to reality. Guess he just needs to do it to make himself feel good. Sad sad person.
