It was girl's Senior Night at Seither Center and the Lady 'Stangs didn't disapoint as the three seniors all had nice games and junior Sarah Futscher joined the elite 1,000 point club at Bishop Brossart in the first quarter.

The 'Stangs jumped out to a 23-8 first quarter advantage with Futscher scoring her 1,000th point in the first quarter on her fourth point of the game. She becomes only the second Lady 'Stang to reach the club in the last seven years. (Emily Sanker had 1,034).

Brossart opened a 34-11 lead at the half and 14 different Lady 'Stangs saw significant playing time except for the injured Olivia Nienaber and Kayla Young.

Senior Rachel Hartig led all scorers with 12 points while fellow seniors Maddi Kues and Maria “Mama” Greis each tossed in 8 points each in the final regular season tuneup for the Districts. Hartig had a solid game with 8 steals, and 3 assists hitting 5 of 7 from the floor and a perfect 2 of 2 from three point land. Brossart is now 22-6 (the region's second best record next to Montgomery Co. at 23-6) while St. Patrick falls to 1-24. Freshman Sydney Shannon had her first double figure game with 10 points.

Futscher scored 8 points, in limited play (15:15). Brossart dominated most aspects of the game with huge advantages in points off turnovers (21 to 2), second chance points (23 to 0) while also leading in rebounds 30-22 and field goal percenatge 46.9% to 30.6%.

The Lady 'Stangs will now play the winner of the Calvary Christian and Silver Grove game on Wednesday at 6 PM at Campbell County Middle School. They earned the number one seed by beating Scott 79-54, Campbell Co. 55-40, Silver Grove 73-7 and Calvary Christian 59-18 in District Seed games.

Entering 37th District Play Brossart is 22-6, Scott 17-10, Campbell Co. 12-16, Calvary Christian 10-18, and Silver Grove 0-27.

Seriously? Why mention all the details for a game like this. Just mention the score, the three seniors for senior night and Futscher scoring her 1,000th point. Those are all notable and should be mentioned. Brossart won by 42 so obviously they dominated all statistical categories. Why rub it in? And then to go on and mention the scores earlier in the year of the Silver Grove and Heritage games and Silver Groves record. This is totaly unnecessary. As Chris Berman and the boys would say, "C'MON MAN".

 

Congratulations to Sarah Futscher for scoring her 1,000th point. That is an awesome accomplishment and she has another year left to play. Good luck to both teams in their district tournaments.

I am looking forward to them. I usually get a nice chuckle out of reading them. I am sure your team will out hit every team they play and your pitcher will have the best ERA, win or lose.

I am with you Porky. How a proposed professional administrator can post things like he does on here and is not reprimanded by the principal constantly amazes me. All he does is makes Brossart look as unprofessional as the BGH. On top of that, BGH picks and chooses when he wants to post things, somehow forgetting to post about the losses that occur. Such a shame that Brossart is represented on here by such an unprofessional person. I would think that if you were an administrator of any school, that you should refrain from posting anything on these sites. But then, we have come to expect this kind of behavior from BGH and he somehow justifies it to himself. And as far as softball goes, we all are well aware of the fictitious stats that he list on here. It's almost comical but rather sad that he actually believes that people are so gullible to think the stats he list are even close to reality. Guess he just needs to do it to make himself feel good. Sad sad person.

Like it or not, he is just reporting the facts. Could some of those facts simply be left out....sure, maybe. BGH has a "ton" of pride for Brossart athletics and does a great job promoting them, and I applaud him for that. We all have our on style on how we report things on this site and that's the beauty of BGP, this is BGH's style like it or not.

 

However I would say, if BGH reported the same facts when the 'Stangs lose, posts like this one would probably be easier to swallow for most.
