Congratulations to the Lady Stangs in their win over Pendleton Co. , especially since their leading scorer Sarah Futscher was out because of sickness. Sloppy game but the Lady Stangs did enough to put the game away. Not much else to report but I'm thinking BGH will have a 15 page synopsis, play by play, and some sort of analogy to a movie before all is said and done. He just can't help himself. Seeing that we got nothing from him when the Lady Stangs lost to Campbell Co. in the district finals, this report should be extra long and detailed. We will await that summary with baited breath! But, a big congratulations to the Lady Stangs for pulling it all together to move on to the semi-finals. With Futscher back and healthy, they should give Montgomery Co. a run for their money. Don't want to report much more or I might sound like somebody else. :sssh:

Great job, girls. Keep playing hard. I listened to the Mustangs broadcast. The fellas did a great job. Thanks.

Very proud of the effort from PC tonight. They didnt give up, and had a chance right up until the end. The LadyCats say goodbye to 5 seniors: Bradi Boden, Heather Jolley, Ashten Wolfe, Tori Fitzpatrick, and Jennifer Dixon.

Hats off to Pendleton Co for one heck of a game. They never gave in and the game couldve gone either way. Very sloppy game and with Futscher out tonight (sick) hurt Brossart. But a ugly win is a win and Brossart moves on and should have Futscher back for mondays game against Montgomery Co.

The old adage reads “When the going gets tough the tough get going.” On Wednesday night in Carlisle, Kentucky the Lady 'Stangs of Bishop Brossart reached back and got going. They came from behind to beat Pendleton County and advance to the 10th Region Semifinals next Monday at Nicholas Co. High School.

Trailing 26-24 at the half and playing without Two Time First Team All Region Player Sarah Futscher, the team used a team effort and some solid defense to rally and beat the Lady Cats 58-51. Bishop Brossart now advances to play Montgomery County on Monday in a rematch of the Region's Top Two Teams won 16 days ago by Montgomery Co. 50-49. Montgomery Co. defeated Bracken Co. and is now 26-6 while Brossart improves to 24-7.

The Lady 'Stangs, with 1,000 pt scorer Sarah Futscher at home with the flu, got outstanding performances from junior All-Region Player Abby Stadtmiller who tossed ina game high 20 points and freshman Emily Schultz who scored 12 and grabbed a game high 11 rebounds. Stadtmiller was 8 of 16 from the floor and knocked down 3 threebombs from outside. Junior Madison Eisenman was clutch from the line making all six attempts. Junior Morgan Verst was 2 of 2 from three point land and 3 of 4 from the charity stripe to finish with 9. Rachel Hartig 4, Kayla Young 3 and Mama Greis 4 rounded out the scoring.

Brossart's defense was a big key with 14 steals to none for Pendleton Co. and also in forcing the Lady Cats into 18 turnovers. The 'Stangs held a slim 43-39 edge on the boards and led in most categories including advantages in free throw points 19 to 8, Pts off turnovers 14 to 7, three point points 15 to 9, second chance points 21 to 11, and points off the bench 21 to 6.

Overall a good night and a nice win at the new Nicholas County Fieldhouse where Brossart remains undefeated winning the All A Region there in 2012 and now the opening game of the 10th Region in 2013. Two more would be nice.

Solid defense from Brossart? Not the game I saw. Brossart's man defense was poor. Pendleton's guards went by Brossart's guards to the basket all night for several lay-ups with no Brossart help defense. Their switch to a zone late in the game was good because Pendleton started looking for the 3 shot when they got down late and they went cold. Brossart needs to play better D against Montgomery and hope Futscher is back to cover the basket or it may not end well for the Stangs.

Just one question little green pony...how can the matchup with mont co be "the region's best 2 teams" if Brossart didn't even win their district??? Are you confused and Camp co actually plays mont co next??? I'm confused!!!

Sorry, meant to apologize to the other Brossart fans for my comments! I couldn't resist though.

RCC, Highlands played both so I'm guessing you have seen Highlands beat both Camp Co (61-44) and Brossart (55-51) this year. Which do you really feel is the better team? I know Camp Co. won the District but split the season. I know you just wanted to take a shot at BGH, but what are your thoughts between the 2?

I have not been to as many girls games as I would have like to made this year. Travel and the boys schedule have kept me away. So I'm curious as to what you think.

Look at the body of work for the season and tell me CC is better than BBHS. You can't!

CC is playing much better now than they were but they are not the "better" team IMO.

At this time of year it really does not matter, all you want to do is advance and BBHS did while missing the best play. There are a lot of players/teams with their seasons over but BBHS is still playing. thats all you hope for. NCC was a really good team but they are Done. BBHS lives another day and all the other talk is just a waste of time!

BBHS beat Manual, does that mean they were a better team?

If you look at records then BROSSART is better than most teams in NKY but we all know that records don't mean anything at tournament time. Teams get healthy and teams have injuries and sickness. Hopefully they meet again in the regional finals. Best team on paper dont always win it. This time of year its better to be lucky Good luck to both teams. More luck Camels way though.

I find it a bit sad that BGH, considering how involved he is with the Brossart program, is too big of a sore loser to post any time the Lady Stangs lose a game, but is always first in line when they win. Just shines a negative light on the program and school IMO.
