The Northern Kentucky Coaches Association all-conference selections were announced Saturday morning at the organization's annual breakfast meeting. I normally publish them here on BGP, but was indisposed this past Saturday. There are three divisions. The Awards banquet will be held on Sunday, March 14th at Lloyd High School at 2pm.

 

Justin Saunders and Alex Trentman are so honored for Brossart among Divison II selections.

I could not find any current link to the NKAC site. I think Mustang was up too late when he posted this info. March 14th is a Thursday.

We will have to give him a get out of jail free card for this one though. I'm pretty sure he was preoccupied with more important things this weekend.

NKAC and NKCA are two different animals. NKAC is conference the other is Region. They don't have a website for the Region.

Very confusing between coaches association and NKAC (Northern Kentucky Athletic Association). The NKCA (Northern Kentucky COaches Association) awards are generally accepted as "All-Conference" awards.

They are voted on by opponent coaches within their respective divisions. Coaches nominate their players and obviously do not vote for their own players.

 

They were announced at the NKCA Breakfast meeting this past Saturday held at the Golden Coral in Erlanger. Mike Key, I believe is the president. Normally, Terry Boemker attends.

All of the Northern Kentucky Coaches (local 8th, 9th, and 10th Region Schools) were in attendance. I was hoping someone took notes and would share them on this site.

Dixie Heights junior guard Brandon Hatton was voted Division I Player of the Year by the Northern Kentucky Boys’ Basketball Coaches Association for the second consecutive season.

 

Hatton, who began playing varsity basketball as a seventh-grader, averaged 23 points and 4.2 assists for the Colonels this season. He broke his team’s career scoring record and surpassed the 2,000-point mark.

 

The top vote-getters for Player of the Year in the other two divisions were Holy Cross senior center Antonio Campbell in Division II and Ludlow junior center Jerad Howard in Division III.

 

All of the players voted to the three division all-star teams will receive awards during the coaches association’s post-season banquet on Sunday, March 17 at Lloyd High School.

 

Awards will also be given to the 9th Region Player of the Year and the Coach of Year in all three divisions during the banquet. The ballots for those awards have not yet been submitted.
