Outfielders

Lets here about them.

HC Brittany Niehaus-senior and about a 4 year starter...Brittany has a chance to have a big year.

Courtney Turner 8th grader, stated for the last 2 years...if she can get her bat to catch up with her defense she will be one of the better players in the area in the next couple of years.

Kaitlyn Buechel - Dixie (sophmore) She started Varsity last year. She has been working with an athletic trainer for strength and conditioning during the off season.

She plays summer ball with the 16u NKY Naturals.

Sydney Himes, CF Conner. Lots of speed!

Wasn't their left fielder (Ellis), named honorable mention for Region 9 (all region)

Jordan Wills, Bracken's centerfielder---lots of speed----one of the best in the region.

I would put Tricia Kramer and Shannon Kremer up against anyone. They have speed, great ball judging skills, and both have a great bat at the plate.

She could have been, but I'm not familiar with her.

Are these girls from BBHS?

I would put Jordan Wills of Bracken County up against anyone. Lot of speed and picks up the ball very quickly!!!

I've seen these two girls make some of the most outstanding catches in the outfield last year...they can flat out go get it.

Yes they are, sorry didn't mention that.

Ashley Grosser WILL have a break out year for the birds. she's a centerfielder with lightening speed, extremely athletic and will most likely lead off or hit second in a pretty stout birds lineup. expect her to steal several bases as well. she is a junior. Payton Leighty is another one for the birds. she pitches, but I think she told the coaching staff she'd like to focus on outfield. If that's the case, they will have a very solid outfield. she is fast, athletic and has a very good arm. Both girls play competitive summer ball and train for softball year round. (hitting and fielding lessons, etc)

Highlands should have a very good outfield when Spencer is on the mound. I would expect to see leighty on the mound a lot this year as well! Why wouldnt you want to pitch, the game of softball revolves around that circle! I am sure the coaches will ask her to do what is best for the team and knowing that young lady she will do what is neccesary!

GO BIRDS!
