As badly as Male struggled with Manual, they don’t look unbeatable. And they beat Trinity. I’m not convinced 6A is unassailable this year by lower classes.

Lexington also has had to deal with Scott County sitting right next to it. And there’s plenty of awful football in Louisville, just they tend not to play out of Jefferson County all that often.

This guy gets it. Coach will play the young ones every chance he gets. He is always planning for the future, and really does not care about scores.

If HHS beats Boyle, huge upset, so yes. Boyle is probably third best team in KY.

This team IS playing legit games. They played Suffield Academy, CT last weekend, so they’re operational. Highlights are on MaxPreps.

The Ashland Daily Independent does a fantastic job covering EKY teams. JC gets better coverage there than in the hometown Paintsville paper. Thanks to Aaron and the gang for that.

I think many of you have unrealistic ideas of HS football. Many schools have no shot of ever winning a title, but many of you seem to take it for granted. Some just want to compete.

Um. Pretty sure X and T are the largest male enrollments in KY.

Since the 2007 season, when the 6-class system appeared, Johnson Central has lost two district games. One in a 5A district in 2007 to Woodford County (Central did beat Ashland that season), and one in 2011 to Ashland. Otherwise, JC has won the district every year since 2007 (this season yet to be determined, obviously). The scores were more competitive in the 5A district with Woodford, Bryan Station, Ashland, Montgomery County than the current 4A district with Ashland, Greenup, East Carter, Boyd, and Rowan. So it had has occasional ripples, but per my research, since 2006, Ashland has won the district once (2011), Woodford once (2007), and every other season has been JC.

I know several have argued against it because it makes it easier for upcoming opponents to scout their teams. When you trade a film, you have control over what films get traded and what gets edited out; not so if you are live streaming every game. Another angle to look at.

This is tough. Central is obviously hurt and down...I expected Wayne to take #1 after all the injuries JC took...then Boyle killed them. Then I expected the Rock...and Somerset? All I have learned is that 4A is basically terrible. I thought JC's season was over losing Jackson and Headley...but everyone else hasn't impressed. My guess is it'll come down to JC coming to either Rock or Wayne, depending on this week's outcome, for the trip to Lexington. I thought JC was done after the grievous injuries...but now...I think still a puncher's chance.

This is hilarious stuff. Trinity is obviously the top team in KY. Ignoring out of state results might have been good stuff in the 70s, but now, playing out of state teams is how you make your name.

Wayne looks tops in an awful 4A.

I would put 4A favorite for Wayne now. Two notes - 1. 4A is terrible. 2. JC has struggled on defense and with injuries. The trip to Wayne County is terrifying.

If by truth you mean the 15th Region isn't very good, and Ballard is very good...then yes. Shane Hall can still play at this level. His AAU games against players nearer his skill level are where he actually attracts the recruits; nobody at Ballard will dominate him individually. I don't know that his guards will be able to get the ball down the court and get it TO him in this game, is the problem here. Sad to say, this'll be over early. But no team in the 15th would stand a chance here either. Not this year.

If you want to make a game interesting, that's a good way to do it.
