Covington Catholic tops new Litkenhous Ratings

The flaw in these ratings is the SOS component. If you take out starters and don’t blow out weak teams you drop. Trinity got hurt by taking it easy on J-Town.

You add your margin of victory or loss to the rating of each team you played. Add that all up and divide by number of games( Don’t use out of state opponents) played. This will give you rating.

I have less of an issue with CovCath being ranked 1 then with Trinity dropping all the way to 5th, behind Male who they shut out. More proof that this outdated formula needs to die.

How about Lexington Christian being ahead of Trinity?

This stuff is so bad, who in the world would pay for this garbage.

Due to running clock and taking out the starters against a sub par team will hurt your calculation in the Lit rankings. Yes, no Trinity in the #1 spot makes it hard to swallow these rankings....

This is hilarious stuff. Trinity is obviously the top team in KY. Ignoring out of state results might have been good stuff in the 70s, but now, playing out of state teams is how you make your name.

I guess the Rocks will simply have to do better. Back in 1977, Mayfield came out first ahead of Trinity and the head coach, Dave Moore, was wondering out loud during typing class how to get a game with the Cardinals.
