I guess the elephant in the room is will this game actually happen?

If it does:

1) Will the KHSAA realize this is not Sycamore from Cincy when calculating in their RPI? I think technically this team is now calling themselves Youthbuild High School.

2) Will this game technically even count with the KHSAA since Bishop Sycamore/Youthbuild is not a sanctioned school in Ohio?

FWIW:

Schedule - Youthbuild (Columbus) Centurions Football (Columbus, OH)

Youthbuild/Bishop Sycamore has played two games. One was against a homeschool academy the other was a reputable team from CT that they lost this weekend.

They were scheduled to play in this huge football showcase event in Georgia against a Florida powerhouse but the game committee kicked them out of the event because of several reasons. They have alos had a pair of West Virginia schools back out of the game when the West Virginia's Secondary Athletic Commission basically ruled that these games would only count as an exhibition due to insurance liability.

Here is an interesting thread about this "school":

Bishop Sycamore | Yappi Sports - THE Ohio Prep Sports Authority

Whole thing seems shady. I know Johnson Central is in a bind based on geography and lack of desirous neighborhood opponents, but some of the teams they've brought in over the years (like the Canadian teams) has been odd. This one seems to take the cake.

I’m not sure of the circumstances, but I have the same question.

I didn't think Kentucky teams were allowed to play non state sanctioned teams due to insurance issues?

I honestly feel sorry for Johnson Central because they have to struggle to fill their schedule every year. I know location can be in issue but the greater one is the EKY teams that won't schedule them for fear of a loss IMO. I wish some KY programs would step up to the plate and fill the voids.

I know the two year contract with Boyle back in 2009-10 was a good one but now that they are in the same Class I don't see it happening again soon.

Bishop Sycamore gets off the bus for the game.

This team IS playing legit games. They played Suffield Academy, CT last weekend, so they’re operational. Highlights are on MaxPreps.

Kickoff in this game pushed back to 8pm. Hutch Bowl festivities!
