Ram Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Class 4A The roller coaster ride of Class 4A continues to twist and turn. Only two teams remain undefeated among the entirety of the class. You could probably guess Johnson Central, who rolled past Boyd County, but would you guess Logan County or Rockcastle County if given the choice? The Rockets lost their quest for perfection against a stout 2A Somerset squad and must quickly regroup against Wayne County. Logan County is perhaps the biggest surprise in the State and now sits at 6-0 after defeating Hopkins County Central. Allen County-Scottsville enters the Top 10 but will immediately be asked to justify their spot in a huge Southern Kentucky showdown with Franklin-Simpson. 1. Johnson Central vs. East Carter 2. Wayne County vs. #5 Rockcastle County 3. Collins vs. Franklin County 4. Ashland at Boyd County 5. Rockcastle County at #2 Wayne County 6. Franklin-Simpson at #10 Allen County-Scottsville 7. Hopkinsville vs. Madisonville-North Hopkins 8. Mercer County vs. East Jessamine 9. Western vs. John Hardin 10. Allen County-Scottsville vs. #7 Franklin-Simpson
Tommy2tone Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I am not buying Hopkinsville at 7 for anything. Wouldn't have Western nor John Hardin in top 10. Winner of this weekend yes. I would give ACS and Logan Co. their due for the success they have had this year.
gchs_uk9 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I would give ACS and Logan Co. their due for the success they have had this year. Eh, I have to see more from Logan County before they're in the top 10. Other than the win over Russellville they've beat a bunch of dogs. We'll get a better sense of where they are after they play Hopkinsville next week.
NamecipS Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I haven't followed 4A all that much this year. Is there a gap between Johnson Central and the rest of 4A or will JC be challenged for the title this year?
FSfan Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 JC is still the heavy favorite. I don't think they will win their last 3 playoff games 150-0 like last year, but it will be a shock if they don't repeat.
JC Alumni 76 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I haven't followed 4A all that much this year. I agree with FSFan, while I would consider JC the odds on favorite to repeat, they aren't near the team they were last season. Luckily for JC, I'm not sure anyone has closed the gap enough to defeat them. Although I do expect tighter playoffs game's this year around not to mention they will not have Home field advantage throughout like they did last season.
bulldog6408 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Smh western not only in the top 10 but they moved up a spot. Put Logan county in there
ATLCat Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Smh western not only in the top 10 but they moved up a spot. Put Logan county in there Outside of Russellville, the teams Logan County have played are a combined 4-24. Western has lost to (3) Top 10 6A teams and Central....
gchs_uk9 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Smh western not only in the top 10 but they moved up a spot. Put Logan county in there If Western and Logan County played tonight, who do you think would win?
bulldog6408 Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I was joking about Logan but I’m still not sold on western. I guess we’ll find out next week
T-CATS Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Ashland maybe and that's a big maybe could play JC a close first half of Football. I think JCs huge lines will wear down the Tomcats and they pull far away in the 2nd.
Darkwing Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 This is tough. Central is obviously hurt and down...I expected Wayne to take #1 after all the injuries JC took...then Boyle killed them. Then I expected the Rock...and Somerset? All I have learned is that 4A is basically terrible. I thought JC's season was over losing Jackson and Headley...but everyone else hasn't impressed. My guess is it'll come down to JC coming to either Rock or Wayne, depending on this week's outcome, for the trip to Lexington. I thought JC was done after the grievous injuries...but now...I think still a puncher's chance.
SmashMouth17 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Would it be fair to say the winner of this week's game between Rock and Wayne is sitting at the #2 spot come Monday?
Tommy2tone Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I would agree that winner of Rock and Wayne will set 2.
4chs Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Was Ashland missing a lot of players when they played Harlan County? Knox Central beat Harlan County badly and Harlan Co. beat Ashland pretty soundly as well. I guess that Knox Central's loss to Danville keeps them from getting any Top 10 mentions, but that game was a lot more competitive than the score would indicate. Knox turned it over 7 times with 2 pick 6's and 2 scoop and scores, plus they were playing their first game without their best player and team leader.
