  1. I hate playing the other conference because they draft huge talent in later rounds where teams are loaded up.
  2. Did he lead the league with 25 interceptions the year before? Is that clear enough. I wasn't talking about last year only. I'm saying since the 1st Super Bowl season they haven't been your typical kind of team you would expect to win it all. Somebody like the Packers or the Pats the 1st time they broke their undefeated streak were teams that dominated. The Giants have caught fire when it counted. I would venture to guess no team has ever won the Super Bowl while being the lowest in the league rushing.
  3. It is also amazing how much the Giants buck all common sense. Worst rushing Off. Eli with terrible amount of turnovers etc. Get hot at the right time!
  4. Very surprised by this win. I felt like last year Dallas had a chance to go deep in the playoffs when Murray was running. They are a different team with him. He gives them a physicality. I didn't think they could go far because their secondary was awful. For at least a game it looks like the corners are going to allow Ryan to call the kind of game he wants. Still not sold on safeties. This Division is loaded. Philly has the most talent but they find a way to screw it up. Giants should compete. Dallas showed going into the defending world champs and physically beating on them with their run game they are legit. Their defense outplaying an explosive Giants offense. The biggest reasons I thought they would struggle is they put a new linemen in this week that doesn't know the playbook. They had to flip tackles etc. On top of that 3 of their top threats were hurt in Witten, Austin and Bryan! With that I don't think you can say enough about Jason Witten! The man had a lacerated spleen. He basically said he wouldn't hold anybody liable if he died to play. Dallas/NFL said no. He got cleared the last day. No way he's 100% from that. To me that sets a tone in your lockeroom to suck it up! I like that Dallas is getting more physical!
  5. That's the problem. If I'm the AD and I want to win I'm making the commitment like you make to basketball. That's not getting a coach comparable to Brooks who did well at UK. He beat some good programs, won some bowl games etc. I'm going to get somebody like a Saban, Meyer type guy. Obviously it's going to take a lot of money but I honestly think that program would make a fortune if they could compete on a national level consistently. The only way you can do it consistently is go get one of the best recruiters in the country like they did with Cal. Tougher because you don't have the tradition with football but money talks. Don't like Petrino and would not want my kid playing for him but there's no doubt he can flat coach. I'd go after somebody like Gruden. Doubt they will get him but you don't know until you put a huge money deal together and try.
  6. I'd go after John Gruden. Started his career as a GA at Tenn. would absolutely have to open the pocket book but you don't know until you try. Think it will take somebody of that recruiting magnitude to win consistantly.
  7. I got it working. Think I was starting 1 too many WR's lol. Here we go with Nicks being a wuss! Guess I'll bench him week one and go with the rookie. Just go on and tell you guys if healthy I'm loaded and winning it this year!
  8. I think the settings have to be changed. I've tried to submit my team but it won't let me. It says submit 2 WR+1TE but we didn't have to have a TE this year. Think that's what's messing it up?
  9. I'm a die hard UK football fan. Season tickets since about 1980 when I was a kid. UK is at a huge disadvantage for a couple of reasons. 1: In state high school D1 atheltes compared to Fla/GA/SC/Bama etc. 2: Geography. How do you talk a kid into leaving Fla/GA/SC/Bama and coming north away from family/friends/tradition to worse weather? That is the reason I think for KY to ever consistantly be great they are going to have to open the pocket book and pay for a top recruting coach like Cal. They missed the boat last year with Meyer. Leach would have been an upgrade but I think it's got to be somebody huge to overcome the obstacle listed above. I like Joker because he's a KY boy. All the people I know close to the program love Sanders. Just don't think it's a good fit for what UK needs to be elite. They've beaten great programs like LSU/Bama/Tenn/Geo/FSU/Clemson etc. Problem is they can't do it consistantly. Now they are really bad. They have the Frosh QB that has the potential to lead them. Think they have to go get a HUGE recruiter! Only way this is going to happen is for fans to stop going to the games. You have to hit them in the pocket book to show it's not OK to not set the bar at the top! Contrary to what a lot of people think there is a state full of UK football fans that would pack the place if they would get serious about being great!
  10. That's as bad as I've seen a UK defense. Nobody close to Winston Guy as Simpson really struggled. UK moved the ball even though they can't throw over 10 yards! UofL's defense wasn't very good either. UofL might not loose a game. Trinity would be the best team on their schedule. Figured this was going to be a very painful year for UK football. They didn't dissapoint.
  11. Nick Saban might very well go down as the best college coach in history when it's all over. He is a mastermind on defense and outstanding recruiter. It's amazing that they had almost 5-6 1st round defensive picks go in the 1st round and have reloaded like they have! I thought the offense looked better than last year. They are a coaches dream on both sides of the ball. They physically impose their will and break your spirit. Michigan was done in the 1st quarter! Yelton looked like a poor mans Adrian Peterson. Bigger back reminded me of Ingram. Oline is outstanding. I do think you have to throw to beat them. Slants and some deep balls were there. Ark with Petrino would have been interesting!
  12. Bummer computer didn't get me a 2nd WR :-( Really like my team other than that.
  13. Are we able to trade in this league? If so anybody want to swap? Have a RB need a WR.
  14. HUGE win for the LC program playing a lot of young guys! Pretty sure LC was up 34-14. PBurg clawed back took lead around 50 sec 41-34. Cyrus hit Prince on long pass to 11. Cyrus hit OBrian for TD w 5 sec left. Goble ran in conversion to win 42-41!! That's 1 heck of an emotional game especially w so many Freshmen etc playing! Congrats to Coach Cecil for battling the adversity and winning a huge game for the program! Congrats to PBurg who brings it every week every year! Sounds like neither team quit!
  15. I see Grahms gone I'll take Gronk TE Pats.
  16. I'll take D McFadden. Don't have my pword and have to head out to football practice.
  17. It will be an interesting game for sure. Ashland is around the top teams in EKY. GW #1 in WV led by UNC RB Switzer+UNC Charlotte FB/LBer Crouser. Switzer went out w a concussion/shoulder last week supposedly. Totally different team without him. In regular season+scrimmage he's scoring about ever 2nd time he touches the ball! Freak speed! I'd love to see Ashland beat them and think they are very capable.
  18. I've been going to UK games since I was a kid around 1980. This is the least I've ever looked forward to games. I've dreaded this season and felt like they will get waxed by Louisville even though Louisville plays a HORRIBLE schedule! The closer this game gets the more I'm starting to feel like this will be a better game than I felt like all summer. Everybody is down on UK and high on Louisville. The cockiness is coming out. It's still SEC speed that plays teams WAY better than Louisville week in week out. I think Louisville is going in the right direction and KY is going in the wrong direction. Don't feel the upset yet but don't feel the -14 now either. Anything is possible. I think the Cards win in a tougher than expected game.
  19. Despise them! Give me the white on white and blue on blue! Go Big Black! NOT!!! These schools are going overboard with crappy unis!
  20. I'd have to sit down and do the math and don't have time right now. Short answer is they should be paid very well. As we are seeing much like the NFL players the officials are in a league of their own too. Enough to defiantly make it where they won't want their other jobs.
  21. I've backed Roger G a good bit but to me this shows that his motive is not to protect the players. The refs are TERRIBLE however I don't blame them one bit. They need full time refs. The other guys have worked their way up the ranks but still work other jobs. The replacement refs aren't even the second tier refs for multiple reasons. One the refs union have a stronghold over the top college conferences that have blocked a lot of them from moving up. The conferences have said you aren't riding the fence. You leave they come back you aren't getting a job back in the big conferences. Now you have even worse refs. Add to that you are talking about taking guys that aren't used to calling big college ball games at that speed much less the NFL speed which is a huge difference! I would love to see the commish get called out about how he can say they are protecting player safety by taking low grade refs.
